Wow what a fabulous day - you would think it was summer! It is so nice being able to take the inmates coats off, give them a groom and enjoy the sunshine on their walks. I plucked up courage to let Tig off in the sand run and OMG she was tearing around with her Momma!!!! Fantastic to see x

We have a poorly Jato - she has had a very high temperature and unfortunately the vet is having trouble finding out why. She has had a couple of nights in as fever has been dehydrating her - she is home at the moment but not herself at all, we have a scan on Friday hopefully something will show up. Xxx

Thena is a sweet little girl, her trainer told us she is a slow eater...Lucy told me she ate her dinner one piece of Burns at a time wandering away from her bowl in between pieces! :)) xx

Handsome Torc went off to the vets for his neutering operation this morning. They also checked out his sore tail, thankfully he didn't have to have any of it removed and he has a bright blue dressing on it for the next few days. He didn't want to come back to the kennels with me! He was quite smitten with Donna his nurse and wanted to stay with her 🙂 The feeling was mutual. She said he been the perfect patient all day. :)) Annie and Thena arrived this morning. The are both lovely girls. Annie is a little nervous at the moment. Hopefully she will soon settle. We had a visit from a lovely little girl and her parents this morning. Most of the dogs were a lot bigger than she was, but she loved them all. Nerys was especially taken with her. Xx Thanks to everyone for their help today, it was such a pleasant and warm day, great walking weather. Norman took Rocky for a trip to the park. Xx Bobby was collected from Ruth's this morning and taken to meet his prospective new family. I'm sure she will fall in love with him. He is adorable. Xx Momma Lisa and Tigger spent the day in the office...Tig is getting better when Ruth leaves the room, she doesn't scream quite as much!! :))) Richard mended the drainpipe in the bottom block of the kennels and put some coat hooks up for us. Bless him! Xxx

Neil said you love your food so hopefully you will have enjoyed your dinner by now and are beginning to get a sense of your new surroundings. Look forward to seeing you again soon. X

  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

Another lovely sunny day and nearly all residents had a walk. Pre walkies allowed me to cuddle and play with nearly each resident. I felt sad saying goodbye to Jet but am so glad he is going to get the chance of a loving home. Be a good boy darling and sparkle like the star you are. Treaty gave me my usual wash and then some nibbles followed by playing tag with one of his toys. He so loves the one on one attention and is such a great character but is very well behaved when out on lead. Deb's was her usual lively self pushing in front of Daisy for a cuddle. They are both so lovely. Freddie is such a sweet and loving boy lapping up the cuddles. I took Calin out first and she was very calm just as she had been in her kennel waiting nicely for me to get her lead etc on. She seems fairly placid although this is the first time I have met her properly. I then took out Nerys who again in her kennel was extremely calm and a little shy. She was a little nervy and got upset when some cars came near and as I was trying to, as gently as I could, get her into a clearing she did cry. My Teddy can be skittish around loud noises and traffic so I really feel for her. It upset me that she was scared and so she gets my biggest cuddle today for being a brave girl and continuing to learn in her new surroundings. She seems very calm around people and was excellent when a toddler visited this morning so that is all positive. I just wonder whether she would flourish better in a slightly more quiet type of home away from too many cars??? She needs her confidence building up and hopefully this will happen. I shall look forward to cuddling her again. She is such a sweetheart and isn't even 3 yet. They are all so different and at the other end of the spectrum is Buster who is just such a happy chappy. I thought his tail was going to drop off from all the wagging when I went in to cuddle him. I missed Torc today so hope he recovers quickly from his op. The others had quick hellos and head rubs and seemed very content. Finally, there are some very nice chocolate yummies up for the latest raffles so everyone coming through the doors please consider buying a raffle ticket. They are only £1 a ticket and all the proceeds greatly help in one way or another. Without all the support things would be extremely difficult for the boys and girls who rely on the hoomans and all their kindness. Thank you in advance.

Our beautiful Momma Lisa is doing so well and gaining confidence - still quite wary of new people but getting used to her new life and LOVES her walks across the fields in the morning. Tigger her pup still gets away with using her as a hurdle, trampoline and cushion!!!!! I love my new 4 legged family xxxxxx

    I’m Homed

Tigger monster Pupdate! After Tig had x-rays a week ago, Chris at Fivelands has been busy building a titanium external framework in preparation for her operation to straighten her leg. Chris will give me a call and get her in within the next few weeks as her leg is becoming more deformed and already one leg measures 17 inches and the other 20 and it is feared she will start to develop problems with her shoulder. However despite the deformity, it does not stop her being a total fruitcake and she is living life to the full.... however the thought of trying to keep her quiet once she has her op is making me gulp........ ha ha! xxxx
