I am delighted for you my lovely cuddle monster!! I shall miss you but this will enhance my christmas if I know you are in a happy home. Just remember Nick, it can take some to settle in so try to keep calm and with patience you will all have many happy years of adventures ahead. At 4 you are after all still a young babe so have a lot to learn but I am sure your parents will enjoy teaching you. You are a beautiful and highly intelligent lad who will very much thrive in a stable home environment. You so deserve to be happy. We will keep all our toes crossed for you. Jetlucy we must be sisters separated at birth LOL as my husband says you and I have the same compulsion where creatures of all kinds are concerned. I once chased a cat with a mouse in its mouth and got it off him and kept it quiet in a warm box for an hour then let it go when it had recovered ! I said to hubby if this is a compulsion its one I don't want to loose. It's my addiction to Grey's he should be more worried about lol xx

Couldn't agree more alij! I think it's so lovely to think you've given a rescue animal a home and I always encourage anyone to do so rather than a puppy (obviously I try to persuade every one a grey is the way forward!) However, as my husband will verify, I seem to take this abit to the extreme and rehome anything and everything and the mankier the better! We've even got a rescue box going now for the rodents and birds the cats keep dragging in to try and help them survive and our vets just love my bank account! Got to love these creatures as they give us so much xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Thanks to everyone for their help today, our hounds had both morning and afternoon walks. Thanks again to Liz_Beth for taking Jet out for a couple of hours. Nick had a nice outing to the park with the lovely family who have reserved him, he was such a good boy with their little daughter 🙂 Sadly, little Mitzy was returned, her family are very upset but feel she may be better suited to a family with older children who are a little less active than a younger child, but say she has none the less been very good in the house. Layla has found herself reserved, she is such a sweetie and very affectionate. Fairly quiet for visitors today, must be the cold! Take care all and keep your houndies warm. X

Honey

Today I had a nice phone conversation with Honey's mom. She has settled well into her new home,she has lots of new toys to play with and a bed in every room. She is a fast learner and has learnt her boundaries quickly. She went out for a walk with a family friend and has a new friend to play with a lurcher. They were both let off lead in a safe environment for a run and little Honey came back on first call what a good girl. Today she tried to join in the local football match on the village green,attracted by the the noise and the ball. She has met other family members and friends and they all love her. Makes being a Daybreaks volunteer so enjoyable,so pleased for Honey and her family xx
