    I’m Homed

I'm finally well enough to attack the computer and do some work and I've just been reading through all the comments that have been left recently and it brings it home that there are many wonderful people out there - those that have felt the sadness over Bez who never even met her and the supportive messages. Having dealt with Bez's return and having her at home for a couple of nights before the fateful day she escaped, I have felt beyond devastated but there is absolutely nothing that can now be done and nothing can be changed. However it is a lesson to be even more vigilant to keep our precious family safe. Not only the great sadness of Bez but the sad and sudden passing of many special greyhounds - you sometimes feel you can't deal with any more bad news and then more comes along. Breaking point comes to mind but you either run or you stay strong and keep focusing on what we need to do and that is to help as many Greyhounds as possible. I am not back at the kennels yet but hope to be as soon as I can and want to say thank you for my get well wishes and cards. Again, a reality check about life - without your health, you have nothing..... setting up Daybreaks changed my life and I am determined it will continue to change other lives - for the better. Ruth x Also remembering Trevor who gained his wings very suddenly yesterday. Run free fella - you were beautiful.

Oh Nick what a roller coaster the last week has been so many lifts and falls. Celebrating one minute for you and then such sad news about other hounds and then you unreserved. Do you think if I offer a to do a pole dance show to anyone who gives you a forever home it would help secure one? On Second thoughts this may definitely increase your length of stay even more. Perhaps I will be best to just keep praying for you sweetheart. xx

It was Mitzy's turn to visit the vets for her neutering operation. Many thanks to Shirley for taking her this morning. When I collected her this afternoon we got stuck in traffic, so it took us a while to get to the kennels. She was very comfy in the back of the car and refused to get out...she really is a cute little girl. Lovely to see Olive go home. Wishing her and her new family lots of great times together. The Pet Blood Bank were in today to take donations from the Trust dogs. The nurses fell in love with all of them especially Nick. Brandy was "retired" as he was too nervous this time to donate. He still enjoyed the extra cuddles he received from the Blood Bank Team. 🙂 Thank you so much to everyone who called or visited the kennels today to give a donation in memory of little Bez. Xxx Xxx

I really don't know how to start this comment but I don't suppose anyone does. I have been on holiday over the weekend and have only just got back to read the devastating news about poor Bez. When I was on holiday I didn't have access to internet and I kept hoping and praying that Bez would have been found safe. I knew that there were so many people looking out for her and just hoped with every part of me that she would be ok. I have been in tears reading all the comments from everyone this evening and I didn't know Bez. I can't begin to think how her owners must feel and everyone at the kennels who tried their very best to give her the chance of a great end to life after she had had a tough one. I really don't know what else to say this is such a shock. Please take care everyone and hug your greyhounds and human family very tight in memory of little Bez. I remember the day when my friend heard of a black greyhound loose and then driving round Smethwick that evening, I am just heartbroken for her. I will certainly be lighting a candle at church for her on Saturday. All my love Anne and Lucyxxxxx

Motorway service stations are quite interesting (I've now realised LOL) as well as good coffee and cake there is the excitement of a drugs bust (Warwick) ... better than the telly 🙂 . I'm heading to the Fleur De Lis in Lowsonford tomorrow early as it's apparently Diwali so more fireworks - good thing the Fleur is dog-friendly so hopefully Mags will enjoy the pub with some of her friends who are coming too - almost as good as your own caravan Pam 🙂
