I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. Especially so suddenly and at such a young age. Run free sweet little girl. We'll walk on Saturday at the Neon Charity event in your memory as well as little Bez's. x

Tiggers mom,What a lovely mom you are to little Mags spending 2 evenings on the motor way services to keep her safe from firework stress, but I expect like all Grey owners we would do anything for our hounds that's what love is about. I remember when I was in my twenties a lovely old widower who I used to walk my dogs and his with across the park said to me "Once you take an animal into your care they are totally dependent on you for the rest of their lives to be there for them and protect them from that moment on, until hopefully you can you hold them in your arms and let them pass and run free again." He felt that too many people didn't take this on board. I always remembered this and have seen by the comments on Daybreaks that the Greyhound "family" are wonderful examples of living by that advice like myself. There is nothing more heart melting than a Grey muzzled old boy or girl hound still tottering round enjoying life. OOHHHHH I am getting watery eyed at the thought. Think I will be at the services next year with Nina. What a great idea. xxx

  • Kuro (Brandy)

    I’m Homed

Brandy has now been at Daybreaks for over 6months apart from a short homing which sadly didnt quite work out due to difficulty sharing food arrangements with the already resident dogs I took him to Brueton Park today and as when I took hom to Leamington street collection he was a lovely dog to take out He is fine with other breeds although a warning growl to a lab who wanted to jump all over him was given but normal doggy interaction gave no problems whatsoever.. Hes sensible on the lead and in the car. Very very affectionate and Olympic class leaner. Definately ready for that long awaited home now. Lets hope being male and black doesnt hold him back too much longer

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Last night was terrible. The loudest fireworks ever. Then daddy and my sister were out watching some weird people in a square with ropes (I think it’s called a ring) doing some weird moves. Mummy said it’s called wrestling not sure why that is interesting but never mind. The first thing I did after my visit to the kennels yesterday (it was amazing to see all the amazing people there) I zoomed upstairs with my thunder shirt on and went under my blanket. My humans put the radio on with classic fm before they left. It does help. Apparently I’m way better than last year. Anyway my appetite hasn’t gone! I still eat anything I can get hold of! I’m just looking forward to when there is a weird looking tree with wrapped presents underneath because I know I’m going to be spoilt! The main reason I am excited is of course because I can see Florence again! Barney xx

  • Mags

    I’m Homed

Little Mags is being a star, Mags, Fee and I spent Saturday and Sunday nights at local quiet motorway service stations as the fireworks by me are like a war zone with big displays 🙁 , we got home at midnight when all had stopped . Mags has coped well with fireworks last night and last week, she's had a herbal calmer - Phytopet Calm, for about 4 weeks in preparation for Bonfire Night and to help her general anxieties. I use Tellington TTouch training which calms and relaxes dogs so Mags had lots of gentle TTouches and she wore a TTouch wrap which is like a bandage and gives them a reassuring hug - Thundershirts are taken from TTouch wraps 🙂 . She lay in her downstairs bed all evening nice and relaxed, even came out for a last wee before bed tho I waited till 11.30 when it was almost quiet and she ignored a couple of bangs. I'm really proud (and grateful) of how she coped 🙂 Good luck with all your Greys, hopefully Divali won't be as noisy as Bonfire Night has been 🙁 xxx

  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

Ruth is home! She looked a little fragile today but sure she will bounce back! We missed you! :)) Xx Rummy went for his neutering operation today, he was such a good boy and went in with tail wagging and came out later with tail still wagging! Bless him! Teddy also went to the vets for the second part of his vaccination booster. He really is a nosey boy and was watching everything Christian was doing, even tried to follow him into the other room. 🙂 Wonderful to see Honey reserved. It's about time! :)) With Honey being reserved we ran out of "My bags are packed" signs to go on the kennels and had to photocopy a couple! Great :)) It has been a stressful Bonfire evening for two of my three doggies. Fletch has finally calmed down and is sleeping next to me on the sofa. Lyra decided she felt safer upstairs and is hiding in the spare room surrounded by pillows. 🙁 As for Skippy Doos, well he is fast asleep oblivious to it all! Bless him. Thank you so much to everyone who has made a donation in Bez's name. So kind. Xxx
