All is going really well (touch wood) , both Mags and my lurcher Fee are eating well and briefly checking on each other from a distance but no reactions ... Mags is a poppet but Fee is very frightened of other dogs due to his past life as a travellers dog 🙁 so I'm being very careful that Fee doesn't panic about having another dog so close - he was always absolutely fine with my last Grey but she was already in residence. I'm using crates carefully so both are safe 🙂 So far so good 🙂 Huge thanks to Ruth, Kate, Jo, Deniece and everyone at Daybreaks who has helped in their safe introductions and to my great friend Marie Miller for her help and advice xx

Little Jato is staying at the vets for a second night - she opened the cover on her bed and opened up the duvet and ate some of the ‘fluff’ - she has been very sick, X-ray and a scan and we think all duvet is out - but she has to stay in until she has eaten (food - not bedding) and everyone is happy it has moved all the way through!! It’s very quiet here she may be the tiddly one but she is the loudest. Hugs to our baby toady. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was Shiftie's turn to visit the vets for her neutering operation today. Thanks so much to Sue for taking her for us. She was a very sleepy girl when I collected her this afternoon. 🙂 It was Pet Blood Bank day! Roary, Honey, Raven, Marty and Nanny all donated. Well done to them all. :))) We had lots of visitors throughout the day, great to see so many Greyhounds coming in to give blood. They all seemed to enjoy their bowl of Chappie and choosing their own toy afterwards. Xx The vet and nurses were all very impressed with our Failed Foster Parents club T-shirts....very amusing to hear FFP at the Blood Bank stands for FRESH FROZEN PLASMA! Also a very good club to be a member of as that's what becomes of our doggies donations. 🙂 Our very shy, lovely little Mags went home today. Do hope all goes well for her in her new home. Xxx Nanny has been fostered and will have a handsome Greyhound lad to keep her company! She is such a sweet happy girl. When I was checking the cameras last night she was trying very hard to get kennel mate Rose to play...Bottom in the air and tail wagging! Rose however was more interested in getting some sleep. :)) It was a really busy day, thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Wish Teddy luck for tomorrow, he is off to the vets to see if his stitches in his pad can come out. Xxx Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Bella went for her neutering operation this morning. Thanks so much to Jo for dropping her off at the vets for us. I collected her this afternoon she was a little sleepy but managed to eat her dinner. It's Shiftie's turn tomorrow! Beauty had a viewing this afternoon and I had a message this evening to say she has got a new home complete with three Greyhound sisters! 🙂 Brilliant news for her. Xx Thank you to everyone for your help today, it was very busy. Myra and Alan very kindly supervised the kennels so I could pick Bella up from the vets. 🙂 x I took the bandanas and foster collars home to wash on Saturday....We have a fox who regularly visits our garden, she wandered over to the washing line and found one of the collars had fallen to the floor. She picked it up and trotted off with it! Hope the next time I see her she is wearing it!! :)) Xxx

Bazcat2005, my suggestion would also be Nick, he just loves human company and would be well suited to a home where people are around for most of the time. He really is a fantastic boy with such a lovely nature. Please have a look and consider him, he is a firm favourite with us all at the kennels. Xx
