Shani I think this is what Jack would say to you ----- You knew when it was time to let me go, So I could run free again, even though I loved you so. You know I will be waiting for you however long, And when the time came I just knew you would be strong. I could just lay down with my head in your lap Then I wouldn't be frightened, I could just take a nap. I could dream of the days that we had, of the love that we shared I was a lucky one, I found someone who cared God Bless, your boy will always be with you xx We had to make your decision with 3 of our Greys over a 7 month period so I feel your pain, as do all of the people at Daybreaks and on this dairy who have loved and lost a hound.x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
What another hot day today, but thanks to our team of volunteers we managed to get morning and afternoon walks done. Thanks to Denise for heading off to Fivelands to collect some much needed medicatio. We had 2 viewings and both are coming back at the weekend with their other halfs to see the dogs they are interested in. So thanks to Paul for staying and helping with feeding whilst i showed the prospective homers around. Ruth/Kate I have left details in both the diary and notepad. All in all a very productive day. I am sorry for your loss of Jack, but you had to do what was best for him. I had to make the same choice with my Shelby in May when i found out his kidneys stopped working.

Barney - thank you for the nice walk and cuddles this morning. What a good boy you were and how much you have come on since you first arrived at the kennels - you were such a shy boy then! You will soon be back home where you belong and I think you will be very spoiled then!! xx

Very, very sad to hear that Jack has lost his brave fight - had so hoped for a better outcome. I remember Jack fromhis stay at Daybreaks (I used to call him James Brindle!). You will hurt for a long time but you did what was best for him and he has gone to the Bridge full of the love you gave him. Sending yhou hugs and love. Run free Jack. xx

I am so very sorry that this awful thing was just too much for your precious boy to recover from. I know how hard it is to see them so poorly and slipping away from you and his heartbreaking it is to make the decision to say goodbye. It is the ultimate gift of our love to free our loyal friends from their pain but in doing so we hurt so much ourselves. I’m sure there will have been so many tears and still more to come but your memories of Jack in happier times will stay with you for ever. Run free Jack with all our much loved hounds who can no longer be with us. Much love from Linda, Paul, Lena & Peggy xxxx

With a very heavy heart, I have to let you know that yesterday we said goodbye to our beautiful brave boy Jack. He hadn't made any progress for over a week, the stroke was just too massive for his body to recover, I will spare you the details but it was a decision we had to make, we couldn't see our beautiful boy like that any longer, and now he is at peace. Jack you brought so much fun and happiness into our lives, with your crazy mad ways, that tail that never stopped wagging and your sweet nature, we will always love you to the moon and back, now run, bounce and barge your way over that bridge, heaven has gained a very special angel. We love you so very much my sweetheart, thankyou for being our boy. Love Momma, Pops and Dexter xxxxx
