Help!! Somebody save me I'm being tortured by mom and TC. We go for a walk, it's lovely and cool and breezy then.... the sun comes out. I get offered a drink, I don't want it - I'm a Greyhound! So they waterboard me!! All over my back and head - to make it worse they do it again sone minutes later! There must be a law against such treatment. Help please. Florence xx

    I’m Homed

Beautiful Bounty came home with me yesterday evening. She loves the garden and lay out on the grass for a while enjoying the cool evening. She enjoyed a brush and some cheese as a treat. We had a great first walk last night and met a few different dogs but wasn't overly interested in any of them despite their various sizes. Even a yappy small dog couldn't get her attention. She walks lovely on the lead, is keen at first but doesn't pull. Loud noises scare her and she isn't keen on double-decker buses but hopefully she will get used to them. She was clean overnight and enjoyed her walk this morning and then her breakfast before I came to work. She hasn't discovered the sofa yet. Is a little nervous of the living room in general and I hope she learns that she can chill out now as she does seem quite active at the moment. Had a good sniff of the TV this morning, it scared her a little last night. It's all new to her but she is doing well. Hasn't discovered the stairs yet, but am sure she will in time. Left her in the capable hands of my fiance so hoping they will bond more today while I am at work. She is a beautiful dog and will make a lovely addition to our home, hoping the fiance agrees! xxx

I had been thinking about your boy so was pleased to read your update that there has been some progress for Jack. I’m guessing these things take time so I’m keeping everything crossed for him. I hope the vets can get his tummy sorted out too then he might feel like eating something and that combined with your visits would be a big help for his recovery. Come on Jack, we are all rooting for you xxxx

I dropped our latest new arrival Rose off at the vets for her neutering operation this morning. Ruth collected her later this afternoon. 🙂 Sal, the Cocker Spaniel came in for a visit again this morning. She met some more of our residents. Sully was a real star and great with her. Thanks to James, Sal's owner for bringing her in. She is a very sweet little girl. 🙂 Nick spent the day in the office again. He seems very at home there! Hope he doesn't have to wait too long for his forever home. He would be a fantastic friend. Xx Jo was in today it was lovely to see her. Hope we haven't put her off yet! :)) x Lots of walkers today and slightly cooler, so everyone enjoyed two walks today. Many thanks to everyone who brought bedding and towels. So kind of you. We have a new lad arriving tomorrow. :)) Xxx

Your visit will be the best medicine for Jack I am sure. As soon as we got our boy home after his amputation although it was a lot of commitment from us (I slept down stairs with him for 2 weeks) he seemed to know we where right there at his side and would do whatever it took to get him back on his feet and started to improve daily. We had another 3 1/2 great years with him when the vet was skeptical at 12 months. I really hope you are as lucky as we where, it sounds as though he is in the best care and fingers (and toes) crossed his recovery has started. Love to you and Jack x

Hi Shani, It's great to hear Jack has made progress, no matter how small. Hopefully knowing how well he is being looked after will help you when you have to leave him. Sure your visits are helping him and not surprised the nurse has fallen for him, he is a very handsome young man! Lots of love Kate Xxx

We have had an update on Jack today, the vet says there has been some progress, only small but it has given us a bit of hope, he has got some feeling in his left legs but the right are still very weak because that's where the stroke affected the most, he is still not eating and still has chronic diarrhoea which they are trying hard to control, they have had him outside today in the shade which seems to perk him up they are working hard on his physio every 3 hours, they are so good with him I think the nurse at the weekend was a bit smitten with him!!!. We are going to visit him tomorrow afternoon and they are going to take him outside and show us what they are doing physio wise with him, I hope our visit cheers him up as he is understandably quite down, we hope this marks the beginning of his recovery because we need our boy well and at home with us and his brother where he belongs, thank you all so much for your kind words, it really means a lot to us. Xxxx

    I’m Homed

Nick went to see the vet today for a check up on his poorly paw. He was very excited to get in the car and enjoyed looking out of the window. He met a lovely Doberman puppy in the waiting room and was a good lad. His injury is healing nicely, but I haven't told him he has to rest it for another two weeks! 🙁 xx Such a shame Sully is no longer reserved but I'm sure the perfect home is out there for him. He is a smashing lad xx New arrival Rose is s very pretty and friendly girl. Yvonne and Olivia bathed her in the small run, she soon dried out in the warm sunshine. She is off to the vets tomorrow for her neutering operation.xx The photos of Saddle and Roy in their new home are great. I understand last night Saddle slept with his new Mom and Dad while Roy snuggled up with their son! :))) Not too many volunteers today, so we got all the dogs out for a nice cool wash down in the small runs. They all seemed to enjoy it. 🙂 Lots of sad news around today....sending lots of love to Jack's family and praying Jack will be ok. Thinking of Billy's family and thanking them for giving him such a lovely home. He achieved such a lot in his time with them. Bless him. Xxx Xxxx
