Thanks for the advice, I can't get to the kennels on a saturday as him indoors goes fishing so I dont have transport, Ruth lives near to me, but I don't like bothering her at home, so could you tell me when she will be at the kennels... Thanks

Poor Dolly, that must have really hurt! I am sure Ruth would take a look at her leg but Catalina our vet should be at the kennels this Saturday. If you would like her to see Dolly please give the kennels a call. However
if it gets any worse or you are worried about it, maybe best to see your own vet. Xxx

Always a good idea to get it checked no matter how small. Constant licking prevents healing anything you can do to deter them licking is the best solution, the kennels will know what to do.

Just some advice please, Dolly banged her knee on her hind leg on the patio door frame whilst running in from the garden, after a few screams she seemed ok, nothing broken or dislocated as she's running on it fine, but it now looks sore where there was a little break in the skin, she licks it, sons dog keeps licking it, I dont want it to get infected, should I pop into the kennels and get an opinion?

1 has ended up at my house after wandering the streets and being goodness knows where before that. Had mammary tumour due to not being spayed. :-(
Yes, they need to be rehomed, but this is just so wrong!

Unfortunately this looks genuine. The advertiser, is a trainer at Hall Green. I've spoken to someone I know about her and they are going to see what they can do but it's unlikely she can be stopped. Dread to think where some of these dogs might end up.

Has anyone seen the advert on Gumtree, a lady in Hall Green offering ex racers for free?.. just wondered if it was genuine.

Introduced Dolly (Aliona) to her first small person today (6yr old), she was brilliant so enthusiastic she knocked him over, he wasnt scared of her though, she just loves anyone. Also she's getting on really well with my sons puppy, had her muzzle on everytime he visited, but muzzle is now off and he's like her shadow, they play together nicely. Had to move my dish of pot pouri she kept nicking the wicker balls and destroying them, and her character and confidence changes daily. We lost our other grey 12 months ago and have only now felt ready to take on another one, we waited, kept visiting till we found the right dog for us, she was worth the wait.

Hi Aries, we made the mistake if shopping around when we got our first grey and went with a company who had a cheaper monthly payment. They did not pay out for dental work we had to have done. There were a couple of other operations they would not pay out on either.'We are now with pet plan. It seems more expensive but it is worth it.

Same here... Petplan were great when we claimed for Norris's broken hock. About to claim for Lola's toe and fully expect it to be dealt with quickly and efficiently. We have the covered for life £4k/yr for the 2 girls and this will be our first claim for either of them. Just be aware that an op. like Norris had at the Willows ate up that £4k in one fell swoop as there was an expensive scan as well as the surgery to plate & pin him back together. x

We're another Petplan fan. We've only had a couple of claims with our too, but they were very efficient. We wouldn't go with anyone else. Mand

hi we,ve got petplan for our springer .really can recommend them,we have a for life policy,up to £6,500 each year for £42 a month(originally £25,went up because we.ve claimed the maximum for the last 4yrs),they may be a little bit dearer but certainly seem the best, settle claims quickly & very helpfull on phone.x

Hi, I have always used Petplan for all my greys. used to have the £4k per year policy but have increased it to £7k for Daisy. My old boy Bouncer used up his allowance almost every year of the nine years I had him! My premium for Daisy is about £40 per month but is worth it! They will pay my vet direct too which helps when the bills have been very big - for MRI scans or surgery for example. Fngers crossed we never have to claim. xx

Hi Aries I use More Than as they offer £7000 per condition (not per year) for a 'covered for life' policy, I have to pay 10% of any claim but the excess is lower than others. Insurance is a minefield- I'd recommend that you have Lifetime cover so that if your dogs develope usual age-related conditions such as arthritis they will be covered year after year (usually once you have paid that year's excess) traditional policies excluded a condition on your next year's policy once you had claimed for it so it could prove very expensive if your dog needed regular pain relief for arthritis etc. Insurance is like most things- only worth it when you need it. Hi Aries, I insure all of my greys with Petplan - they cover for life and more importantly they cover dental work which a lot of companies do not. They are a little pricey but they are for a reason.... they pay out for more claims! We have certainly had our monies worth over the years, especially with our tearaway Foxy who is always doing something to himself! Hope that helps x

Thought we would try and leave Dolly downstairs last night, just got comfy in bed and she let us know she wasnt happy lol, came downstairs to her and she hunched herself up and shot round the living room like something possessed so happy to see me, so it was upstairs, an old duvet and she slept till 9am, still early days yet and we have all the time and patience she needs , she's beautiful, and thanks Ruth for all your help.

Brought Dolly home, she had a good look round the garden, living room and kitchen, no panting or pacing she's so laid back she's horizontal literally, zonked out on her bed and no intention of moving off it lol.
