How to help

There are many ways that you can help Daybreaks Trust, many of which are shown below. However, we are always looking for new ideas for fundraising.  Give me a call if you would like to get involved in any way.  Ruth (Daybreaks Kennels Manager) 0121 782 7702

Things you can do to help:

Tiggys Tribe

A great way to help on a regular basis -

Tiggy came from a trainer at Perry Barr track.  She never raced as she was born with a deformed leg and she underwent 3 operations to straighten it.  Tiggy's Momma was retired at the same time and they live together happily in a home.

Most greyhounds that retire from racing are transferred to Daybreaks Trust Kennels whilst waiting to find a home.  It costs around £6 per dog per day to keep them there , in addition to veterinary fees incurred.  This costs Daybreaks Trust thousands of pounds each month.

Tiggy's Tribe is trying to raise enough money to cover the costs that this generates and therefore needs your help.

You can pay a one-off amount, or pay by standing order (please see "Tiggys Tribe" tab at top of page.  The scheme is flexible so you can donate as much as you want, and as often as you please.

The more money raised - the more greyhounds can be helped.  Please help - you support is desperately needed!

If you would like to support, Tiggys Tales, please send your donation to

50-50 Club

Another great way to help on a regular basis - but with the chance to win as well! Go to the 50-50 page

Just giving

We have a donation page through just giving but if you are thinking of doing a sponsored event or just want to do something barmy to help raise funds, then please make use of the Daybreaks Trust Just giving site. For details of how to add your fund raising idea to the Just giving site, please contact Ruth on 0121 782 7702

Volunteer for events and road shows

We are always looking for volunteers to help with our regular road shows and other fund raising events.

If you can help with events please get in touch with Lisa Campbell and she will link you up with the team local to you. Lisa can be contacted on: lisa.campbell@daybreakstrust.co.uk

If you wish to become a volunteer, your will required to agree to our volunteer policy and Agreement which can be found here.

Due to new insurance, unfortunately volunteers under the age of 18 are not insured to a walk a dog off site

Become a home checker

Already own a Greyhound and want to help finding new owners - home checking is a really important part of our re-homing procedure. If you would like to become a home checker please get in touch with Ruth at the kennels on 0121 782 7702

For the kennel dogs

If you would like to give the kennel dogs a treat then we always welcome tins of tuna (not in brine), pilchards or sardines (in tomato sauce), they love the taste as well as being good for them!
