Took Willow for a big walk today ... She met other dogs big and small ...and children and behaved impeccably!! Even met a horse which didnt spook her!! ... Really at home now and has found a favourite spot in th living room she likes to snuggle. Cries a bit when we all go to bed, but I think it's because of the withdrawal symptoms from all of the attention. She eats well, understands ours and her food and is attracting lots of attention on walks :) ...she also travels well, overall getting on very well and a wonderful addition to the family :)

Pleased to confirm that there were no accidents last night, slept right through, and went outside and did her business outside and was rewarded duly ... Just had her breakfast and now all set for her first walk of the day :)

Well we have got Katie home, now renamed Willow and she has settled in beautifully. She is currently snoozing next to me as I write this and she is right at home!! My reservation when I first saw her was that she was too quiet which I am not used to with Greyhounds but her personality is now shining through and after gallopping round the garden and diving in the snow we saw her tail wag for the first time!! My friend popped round impromptu with his baby and she just lay there and didnt bat an eyelid, we then had dinner and she didnt bother us and just lay there on her comfy bed. She has been outside for her wees etc and we give her a treat everytime so it looks as though she will be little trouble to train but we will be expecting the odd accident. We even popped to Sainsburys, left her on her bed and came back to a happy wagging dog delighted to see us. Once again, I cant speak highly enough of the work at Daybreaks and if I could I would rehome another 5 I would!! its so difficult to choose a grey as they are all so sweet, and needless to say make the best pets ever!! I have a soft spot particularly for Sparky and Stanley as they are such happy chappies and will make wonderful companions and im sure it wont be long before they find their forever home .....just as Katie (Willow) has!!!

Met this lovely girl today, and what a pretty little thing she is. As she has just arrived she is a little reserved at the moment, but she loves a fuss and happily and daintily tucked into her supper. I somehow think this beauty won't be with us for very long. x

What a stunner. Honeypen, you are so funny. I'm sure that 2 days MUST constitute a long stayer!!!! XX

I may have to pop over the weekend and take a look at this little girl and see the great work you do!!

Right, no red or green rectangle today which means she's a long stayer & definitely needs a foster home ;-)

She is stunning! xxx

I know & I love to help with the dogs who do need fostering. I just do seem to have a soft spot for these blues :-) all greyhounds are lovely though & our lives haven't been the same since Henry came into our lives. We just adore greyhounds (& little whippets ;-) )

Oh Honeypen - I can't send a blue girl out to foster - she is so very homeable!
Fostering is only when we have a returnee, a long stayer, a poorly or we are too full at the kennels and she doesn't fit into any of these but thank you for the offer! ;-)

Willow joined in the Greyhound walk arranged by Monmore Greyhound Trust at Cannock Chase today, there was approx 50 Greys and Lurchers there and it was all very exciting for her and got lots of attention!! ... She was very excitable but after a 2.5 mile walk she has had a big snooze this afternoon and she is now lazing again after her tea!! ... She has really settled in well, cries a bit at bedtime but I think it's because she loves snoozing in the living room with us both!! Overall a happy little girl who attracts fuss wherever she goes! :)
