Boo has settled in really well she is wagging her tail in the morning when I come down together with Ava and Cara. Cara's her best friend she follows her around and shares her bed. She has such lovable eyes they just make you melt, I just cant believe a man could have been so horrible to her in the past. She is getting tons of love from us and the other dogs to try and make up for it xxx

Boo - what I can say about Boo! She really is very nervous of people she doesn't know..... I was doing so paperwork yesterday at home so she was on the window seat upstairs (where her latest photo of her is) and my friend popped round. As she approached her gently, she leapt off the window seat, straight across my desk - paperwork and coffee went flying and she ran into the hall :-(

With people she knows she is much better - she wags her tail but still has a habit of dropping down submissively as you approach her sometimes. She had a few accidents in the house yesterday but when left yesterday evening for several hours we came home to no accidents :-) Last night she was left downstairs and again she was dry all night. She is fine unmuzzled with all of our 6 greys. She does have a habit of standing over ours sometimes (I think asserting dominance?) but we stop this by telling her a firm 'no'. As she knows me so well, I do get her 'smiling' at me and she has a great appetite.

We need an extremely understanding and patient family who can offer this girl a home. It is such a shame if she could overcome her fear she could start enjoying life more. :-(

I am desperately hoping that someone falls for Boo / Holly today or very soon. Bringing her back was quite simply one of the most distressing and heart-breaking moments of our lives. I really do want to stress that it was through no fault of hers - she is funny, lively, playful and affectionate. It was quite simply that we couldn't seem to integrate her with our other two greyhounds (both girls). I think that one of the reasons was that we have the most incredible relationship with the two existing girls - obviously we both adore the two of them but Mia just dotes on my husband and I have an incredibly close and unique relationship with Evi.... I think to bring another dog into the equation was probably doomed to failure, and after a few days we noticed that our two were becoming withdrawn and unhappy and not playing with their toys or wanting to cuddle up with each of us any more. If Boo / Holly had come under different circumstances, such as at a future time when the unthinkable has happened and Mia and Evi are no longer with us, there is no way we could ever have parted with her and we would have done anything to make her happy. As it was we just felt we couldn't give her the attention and love she needed without depriving our other girls of theirs so we had to make this awful decision. I miss her more than words can say and I just cannot wait to see that she has the home she deserves with a very special person who can be for her what we, with our two dogs, could sadly not. We will never ever forget her or stop loving her xxxxxxxxxxx

Boo has just got home with me - she has done a welcome wee in the hall and has run to the top of the stairs where she liked to lie last time she stopped at ours. Robbie was pleased to see her and she wagged her tail lots when she saw him.... she has had a slight grumble at Maggie one of our greys but Maggie soon told her off! She would suit a home either on her own or with other dogs (I think she definitely prefers the boys!)

Hi Tinker'sNan, yes we are thrilled that Holly has her home with us now too and we were pleased to get a message from her little sister! We looked her up on the website after your comment and you're right, they do look alike! Holly is a very good girl but she definitely has a mischievous side, she keeps taking all the squeaky toys outside and dragging them through the mud so some of them look a bit the worse for wear now! She is a lovely girl and we are proud to call her our girl now. Greetings back to her little sister too xxxx

So far so good! Little Holly seems to be settling in well. She absolutely loves her walks and has been throwing the toy zebra and toy frog round like a mad thing this morning! She has done well for toileting outside, just a couple of little wee accidents on the floor, but she is getting to know our routine very quickly. Not a single growl between her and our two other dogs yet! In fact I have to say I am incredibly proud of our two in the way they have welcomed Holly, they wagged their tails and licked her as soon as she came in and have willingly shared all their toys and beds with her. It has made us realise how blessed we are to have such wonderful dogs with the sweetest, kindest natures. Funnily enough Holly has mad no attempt yet to climb on any human bed or sofa, seeming to prefer the dog baskets on the floor and even seems to enjoy lying on the lading where she can look down into the lounge and dining room downstairs and observe everything - it's all open plan so seems to give her a good vantage point! We left the three of them together very briefly this afternoon while we went to buy her a few extra goodies from the pet shop and all was fine when we got in. She does seem to be settling in very well indeed and I am getting used to managing all three of them on the lead! So far we have taken them together for all their walks but I need to make sure I can manage them ok alone before going back to work next Monday. Very much enjoying our houseful of hounds at the moment!

Hi, we are all very excited about collecting our little girl tomorrow! We will be there before lunch though not quite sure what time yet. Assuming all goes to plan with her this week during our half term we will be able to make her a permanent member of our household. If all goes well she will be called Holly as the first time we met her was Christmas Eve.

Boo did a brilliant impression of a "Duracell bunny" today...she wanted to play all day! She had great fun chasing Sam, her kennel mate and Sara's little Louis round and round the kitchen run. Even Louis had to give up trying to keep up with her, so she amused herself playing with her toy camel throwing him here, there and everywhere! Who said Greyhounds have no stamina! She is just the most special little girl. Hope the most special person gives her a home. Xxx

Agree with every word Stormin says - Boo is adorable but just not showing herself at her best in the kennels. She is a small girl who loves to play with her toys, and has a little fun streak in her that is gradually emerging. Her own sofa is what she needs now to help her gain confidence. (I must just add that she loves going out with her Uncle Norman, and when she first came to us she hid away from men - just shows what can be achieved with time and patience).x

Boo together with Sam has enjoyed the beautiful sunshine this morning
by visiting Brueton Park.
As ever she travelled perfectly in the car, walks perfectly, behaves perfectly when meeting other breeds.
Why is this girl not in the perfect home?
Anyone viewing our wonderful greys at Daybreaks-- please do not be put off by her caution when she meets new people. Once she has gained your trust she really has so much to give back.
I am sure her true loving nature is just waiting to be shown to the lucky family that decide to give her a forever home.
She really is ready for that home now.

The change in Boo is incredible. She is still a little wary of strangers, I feel sure that her barking is a bit of a defensive mechanism because out of the kennel with those she knows she is a treasure. She is so playful now - between her and the lovely Sam "helping" make their beds yesterday, it took twice as long as it should have done but was so much fun! She came running out of the back kennel with her toy to greet us in the morning too - she will be a fantastic addition to someone's family, she just needs the security to learn to trust and she won't look back. Fingers crossed for you sweetheart. xxxx

Boo had a rough night following her dental on Thursday - she bled heavily (our house looked like a crime scene) and I set the alarm for hourly checks and yesterday morning she was as bright as a button! She is getting braver and last night spend aged leaning and enjoying the fuss with Kate and Clare who came to visit. After they had gone she fell asleep in the middle of the lounge which is a great improvement from her running around frightened and not wanting to go near people. She is a treasure and has been playing with the toys too. x

Boo went to Brueton Park this afternoon with Luke.
She is extremely relaxed on the lead and behaved perfectly with the other breeds of dogs(large and small) that she met.
Although she will always probably be quite a shy girl she is definitely growing in confidence the more she gets out and about in the big wide world.
Once in her permanent home with people she knows and trusts her true loving gentle nature will flourish.

missfifi it sounds like Daisydog is having a ball by the seaside! You are right though, it just takes time and patience for the nervous boys and girls to learn trust and that the big world, although strange to them, is a nice place to be. So glad Boo got a chance to go out with her kennel mate Biffo for the day - she really is such a poppet and sounds like she settled down and enjoyed herself - she certainly enjoyed her supper when she got back to the kennels! The posts about lovely Boo remind me so much of how nervous Daisydog was over a tear ago. Please don't let anyone be put off by a nervous girl or boy. Today my girl went to a party with people she did not know. Met a huge black lab called Chester and a beautiful blue grey called Ross as well as her chum Katie. She had such fun. A bit nervous to start with but was soon fluttering her eyelashes at all the boys, of both the four and two legged variety. A year makes a HUGE difference. I was so proud of her. So don't let shyness put any prospective owners off. Boo will blossom. Xx

Boo has had a day out with Biffo meeting Xmas shoppers at Stratford Pets at Home.
She met lots of small children and small dogs with no problems whatsoever.
She is quite a shy girl but the experience of being out and about in 'the big wide world' will hopefully help her confidence grow.
Perhaps her permanent home will arrive very soon and anyone who is looking for an affectionate loving girl who would probably like a quiet environment to live in would find her a perfect companion.

Boo came from the kennels today to help us with the awareness event at Pets at Home, Stratford upon Avon. She is such a sweet, gentle girl who stayed quietly by my side today and was an absolute angel. To begin with she was quite nervous with all the 'hustle and bustle' going on around her, but definitely came out of her shell by the end of the day, enjoying some gentle fuss. Boo will certainly be a wonderful, loyal companion when she finds her forever home. Thank you for being such a good girl, Boo. xxxx p.s. and no one could resist those beautiful eyes.

Lovely Boo is getting more and more confident every time we see her. She was wagging her tail today and happily came over for a fuss. What a poppet she is turning out to be. She can still be a little wary out on her walk but coped so well when a big cement mixer went past us in the lane today. Little Boo gets our cuddle today. XX

Boo is definitely finding her feet now, but is still unsure about men!!! She enjoyed being groomed today, and really is a sweet little girl who just needs the security of her very own home. xx

I was lucky enough to be able to make a fuss of Boo today and take her for a walk down the lane. She's a beautiful girl and I'm looking forward to giving her a big hug again soon. Tash x

How cute is this little girl, she is coming on in leaps and bounds and was happy to have a big cuddle today. So lovely to see her tail wagging and she is getting more confident every time we see her. She has the most beautiful expressive face. Enjoyed her treat and took it from my hand so gently. Big hugs xx

Boo is coming on in leaps and bounds. Michael wore his cap today because of the rain and she really didn't like that very much (it must remind her of something), but when he took it off, she came up to him and even had a treat out of his hand! She is really gaining in confidence, and is such a sweet little girl. Big cuddles poppett. xx

Hi shanesmum my Sarah said boo actually did a little bark yesterday so she certainly seems to be finding her voice -it,s so rewarding for you all at the kennels to see her change day by day in front of your eyes she,s almost like a butterfly waiting to emerge I can,t wait to see her again to see how much she has changed well done little girl xx

This gorgeous little girl is definitely making progress, it was lovely to see her yesterday coming forward in the kennel and wagging her tail like mad! Still a little wary, particularly of men (?) but she does like to be out and about. The noisy traffic on the A45 is still a bit scary for her, but once we turn off down the lane she is much happier. She just needs time and patience, she really is a lovely girl. LindaPaul you are right, she reminds me so much of Bunny. x

The shy ones are so very rewarding. I know Daisydog very well and it's been great watching her blossom, and I'm not her mum so how proud must missfifi be?!? Another example is little Bunny who we fostered earlier this year. We loved having her around, watching her come out of her shell and getting the ultimate reward of a new home.
So for anyone who is looking, please don't dismiss Boo just because she is shy and does not show herself too well in kennels.

I hope that anyone interested in Boo will read about Daisydog to see just how much a nervous girl can blossom. Paws crossed for you beautiful Boo. xx

Poor little Boo is so timid and nervous of everything around her, it's such a shame as she is the cutest little girl with a lovely grey face mask and the most gorgeous eyes. Hopefully with kennel mate Biffo as a role model, and some patience and TLC, she will come to realise that the world's not such a scary place after all. She did wag her tail a couple of times yesterday, she just needs a bit of time to gain her confidence. Big cuddles sweetheart, your lovely new home is out there waiting for you. xx

Little Boo is such a nervous poppet and so reminds me of how daisydog used to be. She was watching what Biffo did when I went in for a cuddle. And Biffo is a friendly bright eyed boy. It was sooooo tempting to smuggle Boo out under my jumper but I managed to resist. I am sure just the right people will find little Boo and the splendid BIffo. Xx

Boo is so little! She is nervous at the moment, but we could already see an improvement by the end of the day where she started to wag her tail at us when you talked to her xxx
