We unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our wonderful Belle last week.

The girl that was scared of human contact grew in confidence and taught us so much. Belle learnt the paw of more and how to demand fuss. Sofa cuddles became the norm; she adored her sniffy walks and was the queen of making her perfect bed. We feel so lucky she was a part of our family. We have so many wonderful memories we will cherish.

We are beaming with pride today as our beautiful girl passed her silver good citizen award last night. It was a long shot and I wasn't sure she was ready after only doing her bronze a couple of months ago. I didn't need to worry as she carried out every exercise perfectly. We are so proud. Thank you to Sally, Julie, all of Belle class mates, the wonderful Marcia and to my 87 year old Grandad who comes and helps me out at training on a Monday. Xx

I'm so proud of Belle for passing her Bronze Good Citizen Award last night. Our shy, quiet girl who was completely overwhelmed at her first training session not that long ago has come on so much, everyday her personality grows, she is just wonderful. A huge thank you the Julie, Marcia, Sally, Liz and Deb. I would also like to thank everyone at training who has helped by looking after Louis or Belle while I have trained the other. We couldn't have done it without you all.

I am over the moon that Belle is doing so well with the cats and that Louis has found a friend again - he seemed so sad, which is to be expected. I know you weren't looking at adopting another, but thank you for putting Louis first - it means a great deal to me - I was in a similar situation when we lost Tara (Shrew became very unhappy at losing her best friend despite us having others but she developed an affinity with a Trust dog I had taken home who had been unhappy in the kennels.....) and this is why we adopted Wispa xxxxx

We have a new addition to our family today.....

Poor Louis took the loss of Josie badly he was so down and had bad separation anxiety we tried various things and had a glimmer of the old Louis from time to time but not for long. I didn't feel ready but we wanted to help him so we took him to Daybreaks and he met this beautiful little girl. I'm so glad we did. We have had her on trial to see how she got on with Louis and our cat Tigger, she has been great.

Her name was Carol but we didn't think that sounded very doggie. We were debating names and I was calling her from down the garden with some of them. My husband suggested Belle and I when I called it her ears stood up and she came trotting up to me with her tail wagging. So Belle it is.

Belle and Louis have become inseparable and we have our boy back again too which is lovely to see. Each day Belle is coming out of her shell more and more, she is such a sweetie. We have really fallen for her.

We miss Josie terribly but believe she has given another beautiful girl a home and has helped another grey to come off the waiting list and gain a place at the wonderful Daybreaks.

Thank you to everyone that has been so supportive over the last few weeks it has made a difference and we are really greatful. XX

Belle you clever girl leaving that cat alone you have bagged yourself a lovely home and are helping Louis who was very sad at losing his mate the gorgeous Josie X
