Chase was left with my husband while I went to London for 3 days. When I returned home on Friday evening all I can say is WOW what a welcome I had. Chase was so excited to see me he threw himself at the door preventing me from getting in straight away. Eventually he it took him about 10 minutes to calm down before the two of us went for our walk into the park :0)

Chase, formerly Ken, has recovered from his operation and being thoroughly spoilt. Our grandchildren, who live in Swindon, came to see him for the first time and were greeted with a waggy tail. xx

Hi Val, hope Ken is doing ok after his trip to the vets to be neutered today. Xxx
Tuesday 13 May 13:33
That's really kind of you to say :-) He used to slink down onto his belly earning him the pet name collie-dog as he looked like he was herding sheep lol. Buffy (formerly Hello Buff) went to a lovely home with another greyhound via Monmore RGT so I suppose the chances of them seeing eachother again are slim unless both go to the GGG... Whatever it is he's been through he's obviously landed on his paws now! Enjoy eachother Xx

Hi Melodysmom - It is nice to know that Ken/Bolt had an excellent start and that he has a sister Buffy. He is still timid around people he doesn't know. Your Sunday walks with him have done you proud as he is a lovely dog to walk. Thank you.

I met gorgeous Ken this morning...what a lovely lad, I am not surprised Val and Clive fell for his charms. I think Bolt is a good name for a Greyhound...Xxx

How funny ! When we had our first greyhound, I had a shop so my business partner and I took it in turns on our days off to go to each other's house and let the dogs out !!! Charlie used to get so excepting when he saw liz at the door that he used to take a running jump at it and consequently bolt himself in !!! Three times we had to smash the glass to get in , we laugh now !! our Charlie was such a fabulous boy lots of funny memories x

Clive said he wanted to rename Ken "Bolt" but I wasn't keen. However, when I got home from work today Clive was adamant that he was going to be called 'BOLT'. Apparently, when Clive return to the house he unlocked the door with his keys but was unable to get in because Ken had managed to push the bolt to a locked position and consequently locked Clive out!!!!!!! luckily the bolts were off on the front door.

Hi Val I hope you don't mind me asking after Ken, but I knew him and his litter sister Buffy when they were just pups. They were at the same kennels where we had a couple of our dogs. The trainer adored these pups, as she does all her dogs. Marinus was a very timid dog and I helped coax him into walking on the lead and continued to walk him every Sunday until we left Monmore and took our dogs to Perry Barr, so I'm very upset to read that he lived as a stray! Have the people who homed him been located and if so have they explained why? Maybe i shouldn't ask, but I love all greyhounds with a passion, especially when I've had the pleasure of knowing them personally... I am so glad that he's found a 'truely' forever home with you and yours and I'd be grateful if you'd give him a cuddle from me Xx

After about a hour and a half of spasmodic crying he settled down and we basically had a reasonable night. I came down stairs to see a rather excited dog greeting me. After breakfast, we went upstairs to get ready to go out when suddenly Ken came upstairs to try out the beds. We had great fun trying to get him off one bed; once he was off he ran into the other bedroom where we had to do the same procedure over again. Big laughs all around. Clive and I took Ken to the shops, where he behaved impeccably. Ken now walks past Casper Cat as if he isn't there.xxx

It was lovely to see this handsome boy off to his foster home yesterday afternoon. I had to smile, we lifted the boot lid and were debating if he would be able to get in etc, and he just took one look, jumped in, turned round and lay down with that "right, where are we going then?" look on his face!! What a stunner he is.x
