Today we said goodbye to Varus. He had stopped eating over Christmas and tests eventually led to a diagnosis of cancer.
We have had around five years with this funny, daft, sometimes smelly, loyal and beautiful dog. He has been a large part of our life and leaves a big hole.
Thanks to all the staff at Wombourne Vets and thank you Varus for a great ride, we’ll miss you.

Well, what a good first week. Andy has a lovely temperament. He has been into everything but will respond when you tell him no. After the first few days he has been clean in the house with just a few accidents as he finds his feet.
On walks he doesn't pull and is sniffing about the golf course like he has been here for months. He has met other dogs without problems - including a very small, fussy pug.
Him and Bunny are not bosom pals yet with a couple of growls (more moans really) from Andy when she approaches "his" favourite part of the sofa and when we give her a fuss.
He didn't respond to Andy or Charlie so James has renamed him 'Varus" (all of you up to date with computer games will recognise it!)
Currently after a good walk this morning he and Bunny are crashed out on the sofa.

As Duleek Dandy has already said Andy was an absolute superstar at soggy Dumbleton today.
3rd place in male greyhounds age 1 to 7 and 5th place in a very large entry for best greyhound rescue.
He is completely socialised with people and dogs of all breeds. Also World Champion leaner. A perfect dog to take out ( even though he managed to break in to the treat bag in my car as we were about to return to Daybreaks !!!!!)

Oh Andy....what a super - if very soggy - day out you had today at the dog show in Dumbleton.
Well done on getting your 2 rosettes - what a clever boy!

He was so good with all the other breeds that were at the show. Leans at every opportunity!!

Oh yes.....we met the handsome, gorgeous, lovely Andy yesterday at Pets at Home. He was so well behaved....someone is going to get themselves an absolute darling! xx

Andy came with us to Melbicks today and Pets at Home, Stratford yesterday to help promote his noble breed and couldn't have done a better job. He is utterly gorgeous - loving, gentle, quiet, and laid-back. Also very responsive on the lead and loves his food. Happy to 'lean' into all the attention he received. If you are looking for a calm and gentle greyhound, this boy will tug at your heartstrings - he did mine. Andy - we love you. xxx

Hi, met this lovely boy today - he is absolutely gorgeous. Only went in for a bag of dog food and nearly came home with Andy!! Not sure what Gemma our Greyhound would think about a new addition to her home! He is such a loving boy with beautiful eyes that say just love me and you won't regret it. Hope you get a nice home soon x
