Totally gutted is an understatement. We had to let Max go today, night night baby we love you so much and always will.

Gosh, I've only been away on hols for a week, and so many greys rehomed, including some in and out in a flash, and long stayers like Sanji and Max. Fantastic news for all. xxx

Well it is official, we are totally bonkers ! Ffpc twice now, we are never setting foot in that kennels again !!!!!!!!!!! However Max continues to "like it here" and I don't pretend we haven't got our work cut out keeping up with this boy and his training and socializing are a priority, just need to work out a strategy as he is a clever one, not foody and oblivious to squeakies when focused - help !!!!! helenanddave I totally appreciate how bitter / sweet this must be but he has cuddles from you each day and he welcomes his opportunity to kiss u in person xxxx He will be at Aldridge roadshow a week on Saturday and I will endeavor to update each event he comes to just in case .. xxx

Max update ! Well we all know how handsome and adorable he is but we are coming to realise how clever and funny he is too. He is very good at stealing seats, I only lent over to kiss Jo and he had jumped into the space behind me (floor is good enough for humans) x Steve made the mistake of vacating his chair it was full of Max in a second. He has worked out which other grey to become double trouble with for treats and cuddles etc. He continues to be SOOO nosey had to insist he put his head back inside the upstairs window before I went to work, he was so busy taking in the sights. He loves squirrels and is a one greyhound squirrel patrol ! Although he enlists help from Toby and Will when needed x Cuddle monster is coming out, love this boy xxxxx

Max update x Firstly thank you all for your lovely comments it is so nice to see how much Max is loved ! Our boy is currently downsidehup with all his legs in the air, his tongue poking out so a fairly normal evening. He is eating all his food so hopefully he won't be such a skinny ribs soon. He loves his walks, running in the garden, up and down stairs then more up and down lol. He is such a nosey boy into everything, he came to see me at work today and wouldn't even look at me until I took him exploring. His brothers and sister seem pleased he is back too xxx

We had the pleasure of meeting Max last weekend and what a beautiful lad he is. So pleased you've found your forever home gorgeous. Be very happy, big hugs, xxxx

What a fantastic dog Max is. Fab with all 4 of my children aged between 6 and 17. No problems with my 3 dogs one of which is a non grey. Clean in house. Quiet at night. Walks well on the lead. Very very happy boy who loves cuddles. X

Lisa, the big ones always curl up the smallest don't they. My Stevie is the same and he is mahoosive. Lol.x

I have got max at home with me tonight. He will be returning to the kennels tomorrow. He is getting on great with my 2 greys and 1 non grey. He is a tall lad..... Even taller than my coco..... But omg, like Ladyvictoria says he can curl up very small. He is also FANTASTIC around my 4 children aged from 6 to 17. Xxx

I met Max for the first time last weekend. You're right about his eyes Kate, he has wonderfully kind eyes and they're very hypnotic. I could have gazed into those beautiful eyes all day! Mand x

Max may be a very tall lad but he managed to curl up small enough to fit in a bed made for a smaller dog! He spent the afternoon in the office; he was so quiet and peaceful you didn't know he was there. He really is fantastic. He has the most wonderful eyes! Well firstly apologies for the delay in posting - have had 4 greyhounds to cuddle and this does take a serious amount of time lol. Mmm Max, where do I start ? Perfect, adorable, handsome and gorgeous ! Not a peep out of him at night, he is a cuddle monster, loves his walks well actually he loves everything ! No trouble at all he is fantastic. Whoever takes this boy will be so lucky, we will take him to Perry Park tomorrow if anyone is around and wants to say hi. He just really loves human company and to be close to people. He has a very cheeky side to him as I'm sure you are finding out and a tongue that has a life of it's own! However he is the perfect house guest, his character is coming out and he is a bouncy happy boy and he just joins in with our two other boys. Just a quick update on this fantastic boy - he came home with us today, he didn't want to leave Ruth but gave him the choice between Ruth and a pigs ear, so he quickly jumped into the car lol ! He has met and was not phased by our three and likewise they were ok with him too. He had his walk, his tea and is now sparked out and settled. We are fostering this awesome boy for a few days but if anyone wants to meet him will be happy to bring him to kennels etc

Max came back into the kitchen after his day out at the party. I was sitting on the duvet on the floor with a cup of tea just taking 5 minutes before feeding started, and Max decided that he would like to come and share the duvet with me, well actually not really share but more take over! For a big boy he can occupy a small space - he sat down beside me then draped his front legs across my knees and leaned! I soon got the message and let him have the duvet to himself! What an absolute treasure he is, he just loves to be around you and takes his treats so gently from you. Hope your forever sofa is just around the corner sweetheart. Xxxx

Thank you for being such a very good boy at the Daybreaks party today. It was an absolute pleasure being with you and you were very well behaved even though there were lots of other breeds around. Max is worn out! He had a busy day at the kennels and then I left to drive to Northampton to collect my Auntie as she is visiting for the weekend so she can come to the Daybreaks Party. However, I got stuck on the M6 so ended up with a diversion of over an hour :-( Got home at 8 and the poor boy did not want to get out of the van..... however when Robbie came out of the house he soon changed his mind and ran in wagging his tail! He is currently curled up on the armchair..... I think he is liking it here.....

I can only echo the comments made regarding the beautiful black hounds I cannot understand why they are always last to find their forever homes, they positively glow when their coats are in top condition. I have always felt that there is something quite regal about them. Max is so sad please someone give him a sofa he will pay you back tenfold.

Please do not be put off by this lads size, I have a very leggy hound called Lottie and she can curl up into the smallest of spaces.

Feel so sorry for poor Max Why are so many tall black boys left behind to beg for a home? Black is certainty beautiful...the taller the better They still don't take up much room being so slim and boy do they shine! We are sooooo proud of our tall black boy They are always our first choice Please will someone give poor Max a sofa he's worked so hard for !!! X

Max came home with me last night... For two reasons. Firstly his kennel is out of action as the bed and tiled flooring is being done and as we are so full there was no where to put him! Secondly he just seems sad. He doesn't like going back to his kennel and is much happier when out of it!

Well... He is being one perfect house guest. Clean in the house, loves to lay and be stroked, great with ours and had a lovely settled night.

So what's his downside? I guess this is his size and colour.... He is an amazing leggy boy but I personally think that makes him even more gorgeous (like Woody one of our previous inmates).

I know there are a lot of black hounds and they often get over looked but if you get them in really good condition the shine you can get on their coats is amazing they positively glow.

Please people do not be put off by the size of Max I was looking for a small companion and ended up with Lottie one of the biggest females ever seen! Lottie is lovely and you would be surprise at how small she can make herself when curled up on lounge rug. I haven't met Max but I can see from the photo how sad his eyes are, please someone put some joy into them he will repay you ten fold. There is something really rewarding in turning a hounds life around for the best you won't regret it.

Please, please, does any one have sofa room for handsome Max. Much as he is loved and looked after at Daybreak's he is very sad and needs his forever home. He was very sad today and didn't want to go for his walk and I had to do a lot of encouraging. He is a tall boy but very very loving. Fingers crossed for him that a home comes soon.
