Susie is a very nervous greyhound. She is very scared of loud noises and would need a home that would understand her needs.
She has recently been in season so is booked to be speyed 11th July 2016.

Hello to all my friends at Daybreaks. I thought I would give you an update on my progress in my forever home. I’m living the dream and loving it.
Dutchess is such a wonderful big sister. At Christmas we had more people in the house but Dutchess told me not to be nervous and just look at them with floppy ears and they would give us treats – and they did – wow.
Anyway, thank you so much Daybreaks for finding me a wonderful home x x
Lots of love
Susie

Hello Susie -what a lovely update from you. You sound like you are doing really well and are now much more confident than that nervous girl I walked at Daybreaks. How nice that Dutchess is looking after you so well and teaching you all the important things! Looking forward to more updates. Sending you and Dutchess a hug. xx

What a lovely update Susie... You forgot to mention who's taught you to log on! We met you before you'd adopted your Mom & Dad and know how very nervous you were. Your family sound wonderful and we look forward to reading how much more confident you are in another month. Big hugs gorgeous (share it with Dutchess) xxxx

Hello to all my friends at Daybreaks. I’ve been with my mom and dad for over a month now and I love it. I go on at least two walks a day with my big sister, Dutchess, and we get loads of cuddles. I’m still very very nervous but my mom said that is ok as it makes me unique and special. I know that as long as I stick with my mom, dad and Dutchess, no harm can come to me.
I’ve made so many improvements over the past few weeks. I get excited when mom or dad come in the room, I know the sound of the car on the drive (Dutchess has taught me that this is when we have to get off the sofa and pretend we’ve been on our beds all the time), I look out the window with Dutchess and bark when the post man comes down the path, we play chase in the garden, I don’t pull on the lead when we go for a walk (unless there’s a stranger or another dog near us). Dutchess has taught me how to melt my mom’s heart. Dutchess even lets me cuddle up to her when we have a nap.
Umm yep, think I’m going to love it here. I’m so happy. Take care everyone and I’m sure you will find a family as good as mine very soon x x x

Hi Susie, Great to hear how you are getting on....sounds like you have found yourself a brilliant forever home with your Mom, Dad and lovely big sister Dutchess! Lots of love to you all. Xxx
Wednesday 06 Jul 20:43
Well I never. My new mom and dad collected me on Sunday and despite me having a little tinkle in their car on the way home – they still love me : )
When we got home, I met my big sister, Dutchess, again and she took me for a good look in the garden. Dutchess also used to live a Daybreaks so we chewed the fat and she told me how much I will love it with my new mom and dad.
I’ve got my own fluffy bed and a toy. I’ve also got my own food and drinking bowl. We all go for some wonderful walks in Newhall Valley but I hide behind my mom or dad if someone comes up to us. Dutchess said that overtime she will teach me not to be so nervous – don’t think so Dutch. Anyway my mom and dad have said that I’m a lovely, beautiful girl and they will love me and look after me always.
Thank you to all my friends at Daybreaks and I hope you all find a good home soon x x x

Sunday 03 Jul 14:42
So pleased that Cally has finally been reserved and it was lovely to see Susie go to her new home today. It has been very quiet with volunteers this afternoon so all of our Daybreaks residents have had a run in the sand run instead of their second walk. I am hoping the weather next Sunday is as good as today has been for our 10th Birthday BBQ Celebrations - keeping everything crossed!
Wednesday 22 Jun 18:44

Monday 13 Jun 13:47
Excellent, we will be there about 10am. Dutchess will love her fun in the sand run. If Dutchess and Susie get on well, can we put a 'reserve' on Susie with a view to her coming to her new home mid July? With her description we are very interested but want to give Dutchess the final bark.
Monday 13 Jun 11:43
so nice to hear Dutchess might have a new friend, keeping everything crossed. xxxxxxx
Monday 13 Jun 10:48

Sunday 12 Jun 22:08
Hi Jazz-&-Dutch, you are very welcome to visit the kennels with Dutchess next Saturday...Hopefully she will find a friend to help fill the space your special lad Jazz left behind. Xxx
Sunday 12 Jun 21:15
Can Dutchess come and visit Susie on Saturday 18th June in the morning? Dutchess would like a run on the sand and would like to meet Susie too.
Sunday 12 Jun 21:03
Would Susie get on with a very excitable, sassy Dutchess?
Dutchess is looking for a sibling. She came to live with us to give Jazz confidence, which she did. As Jazz has now crossed the rainbow bridge, Dutchess wants to give another grey a good home.
Friday 10 Jun 11:35
Dont be scared little Susie, you are being looked after by some lovely people who will help you grow in confidence, who understand your needs and will do everything to help you. Iam sure you will come on in leaps and bounds pretty girl. Our first grey Bridget was scared of everything when we first had her, it took lots of understanding and kindness and she gradually came out of her shell. When we got a brother for her she became a whole different dog, she would then go to anybody who would stroke her, was happy and confident and very cheeky too. So you see Susie, you will be fine xxxx
Wednesday 08 Jun 19:27
Noticed a definite improvement today on the walk. Went up the lane and Susie was very good and ok when cars came past. She was still nervous by the A45 but better than last week. Hopefully she is now settling and gaining her confidence. xx
Tuesday 07 Jun 19:22
Little Susie... You break my heart, over time I'm sure that you will learn that we a good people and that there's nothing to be afraid of. You are so sweet and great on the lead once we are away from the scary traffic xx
Saturday 04 Jun 22:22
Susie had enjoyed another trip to the park with Norman today...she was a good girl! Xxx
Friday 03 Jun 15:53
Popped into Daybreaks earlier with a few goodies for the 4 legged beauties and my oh my, what a gorgeous girl Susie is. She's so very shy but did allow us to gently stroke her as we were fussing Al (who's doing a great job of playing 'big brother' in the same kennel). This little poppet needs a family who have the time & patience to bring her out of herself, as beneath the nervous exterior, there's one beautiful little greyhound just waiting to have heaps of love, snuggles & fun.
Friday 03 Jun 13:34
Susie has spent an hour this morning in Elmdon Park. Her confidence grew the longer we were there eventually allowing herself to be fussed and stroked by people she had not met before. Also she has no problems with small dogs and it seems she would probably be able to share a home with them. She travelled well in the Trust van -- particularly on the return journey. Her cat test went very well also .
A shy cautious girl who in the right enviroment should make a lovely companion.
Wednesday 01 Jun 19:04
I walked Susie this morning. Bless her, she is terrified of the traffic on the A45 and tried her best to get away. However, after a lot of persuasion, a short lead and some stopping and starting we went the other way and walked up the lane. She relaxed alot up there, just showing a few nerves when a car passed and we got there and back ok. She is beautiful and I'm sure with a bit of time, understanding and a lot of love she will be fine. A really sweet little girl. xx

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all our friends at Daybreaks,
I can't beleive it's my 2nd Christmas with my new family. I'm still living the dream. I'm still as nervous as ever but my mom says it doesn't matter because she'll always protect me.
My big sister Dutchess is slowing down but she can still run round the garden with me and give as good as she gets.
Love to you all and keep up the good work.
Susie and Dutchess x x
