I’m Grace’s dad.
Grace passed away last Monday (the 11th of July 2022) after a very brave near 9 month battle with cancer.
Needless to say my wife and I are still devastated and miss her so much.
When we brought Grace home she was unsure of the world around her and of other dogs, but she grew into the most sweet, gentle, kind, protective and loving girl.
Everywhere she went she was admired and to say it was an honour to be her dad and mom would be a massive understatement.
I don’t think we will ever get over loosing her, but the 6 years that we got to share with her were filled with lots of walks, lots of fuss and many, many treats! She was a super happy girl and a great sister to Monty (our first boy) and Peppie our current boy.

We went to visit my mother in law today, and as we got out of the car we saw 2 greyhounds (and their owners!) going in to the bungalow 2 doors away. When we spoke to them we discovered one of the hounds was the lovely Diva - now Grace! She is looking very well and seems very happy with her fur brother who I think was called Monty. xx

Well done little Diva - so happy to see this Green sign. You really deserve that lovely comfy sofa. Be very happy in your new life. Loads of hugs. xx

We met Diva on the Sutton Park walk today. She was happy to meet all the greyhounds in a friendly manner. She does get excited to see other dogs who are not greyhounds. The big wide world has many strange things on offer and with more walks Diva will eventually learn that she doesn't need to do everything at full pace and hopefully she will relax and take it a little easier. Perhaps if she could find a home with another greyhound who could show her the lessons of life and give guidance and reassurance to her it would help. With careful training Diva will become a happy friendly loving girl to her eventual forever family. She is certainly a happy pretty girl xx

Diva is on the Sutton Walk today if anyone would like to meet her. She will be with Norman. Have a great day. x

Divas had a good play in the sand run this afternoon, what a happy girl she is. I cannot believe nobody has given this girl a home yet! After her mad 10mins she lay down on the sand and had a good cuddle xx

So today was Diva's big day out. I took her over to Elmdon Park for a treat and I can say that we both really enjoyed it. We stopped and chatted to other people and their dogs - Diva particularly liked a lurcher who we found down by the lake. The lake absolutely fascinated Diva and she was bemused by the floating bundles of feathers that make a strange quacking sound. So many sights, smells and sounds to take in.
Given the chance off lead, Diva would play with every dog in the park but took a dislike to two little yappy things that made a nuisance of themselves. She does need to learn a few manners though but that will soon come when she has had a bit more experience making canine friends.
She did get a lot of attention from passers by and one chap wanted to take her home!
So back to the car - she got in and out without any direction and enjoyed sticking her head out of the window all the way back to HQ.
Diva needs a little coaching on greeting other dogs but is certainly a hound that enjoys her walks. She enjoyed a couple ofsecret treats too!

Diva, you are such a sweet girl... We need someone to take you out of the kennels so you can have some experience of the outside world! Maybe someone would take you to the park so you can learn that other breeds aren't something to be scared of? Xxx

We saw Diva in the run just after she arrived and she's very sweet. No doubt that she'll be snapped up by a very lucky familly in no time. Hopefully she'll still be there next weekend so that we can give her a bit more fuss!
