Happy 6th birthday to our beautiful, happy and occasionally very silly Peggy!
When she first came to live with us we did sometimes wonder what we’d done and often said we weren’t sure she’d see her next birthday! Well here we are 3 birthdays later and she still has that slightly edgy side to her and the only 2 things that get a bark out of her are squirrels (when they are very close) and her grandad! She’s a lovely girl to have as part of our family and now I just wish for so many more birthdays with her in our lives. Love ya Peggelets xxxx

Happy birthday for yesterday Peggy! Glad your mum remembered just in time before you & Star went off on your special mission in Birmingham City Centre. You seemed to enjoy your day & take the big city in your stride so Star tells me. You even had a pub lunch with my Yorkshire friends. I also loved my day with Uncle Paul & Lena at the Day Care Centre for the mature hounds & snoozed the day away. We was very glad to enjoy your special day with you! Wow what a birthday to remember Peggy has had! Parades through Birmingham then pub for a spot of lunch with some new friends from Yorkshire and old friend Star with hoomom& dad Emma & Mike. Peggy has had so many treats today I have lost count! Didn’t stop her wanting her tea tonight though! Happy 1st official Gotcha Day to our crazy baby Peggy! She’s made us laugh and curse and everything in between in the last 12 months! She’s always under our feet especially when she suspects food might be in the offing so she’s been stood on more than I care to mention! However she’s also brought so much laughter to us after the sadness of losing Lola. Peggy is a complete clown, a goon who has not read the manual of how to be a lazy Greyhound! We love her to bits and wouldn’t swap her for the world..... honest!!! We bought the girls a beef knuckle bone at the weekend so there’s a few more gnawing sessions left in those and she and Lena celebrated with a trip to the vets tonight as Lena has gashed a pad on her one good leg and Peggy had her vaccinations! A real treat especially when she screamed at the vet! Well done Peggy-doodlebug at least you read the section about the Greyhound Scream of Death! I think you can stay another year! Proud mummy time! My lovely Peggy has passed her Bronze Good Citizen test this morning (despite the 8am start which we are so not used to!)
Onwards and upwards this girl is so clever and enjoys our weekly visits to training class to see all her friends and eat sausages! xx

Our Peggy has had a busy weekend. Saturday morning she went to training class as normal (she is learning really quickly) and on Saturday afternoon she went to her first roadshow at Melbicks. It was just for an hour to see how she would take to it. We were very pleased with her... ok she could hear the squeaky toys being tested in the pet shop and was very interested but she wasn't upset and greeted some of the Melbicks shoppers with her usual enthusiasm! She saw some smaller dogs too and was fine.
On Sunday she went to her first greyhound walk at Stratford where she met some of her greyhound friends and also got up close and personal with a trainee guide dog puppy! She seemed to like the company on the walk and as usual she was very interested in everything that was going on..... a real tourist! She even stopped to try to help a lovely couple doing some work in their front garden and a man washing his car also caught her attention. He must have looked like he needed her help too! All in all a successful and busy weekend and tonight she's had some lovely dreams while we all chilled out! All in all a great weekend.

Daisydog and I are just thrilled that Peggy is for keeps.....well done Lena for keeping her on her toes - sometimes quite literally I hear. Peggy will have a fabulous life with you and we hope very much to see her at the seaside in the future. Welcome peggy - excellent choice of mom and dad. Xxxxx

The decision is made, Peggy is staying with us! She's funny, cute, so very friendly and quite clever. Aside from all of those things, and most important of all, Lena is so much happier with a companion, even if Peggy does get a bit bouncy at times! Lena's worked out how to avoid Peggy leaping around when we come in so she can grab her toy and say hello to us!
Peggy has settled well into our routine and we are looking forward very much to seeing her grow into her new job as a pampered pet! Linda, Paul & Lena xxx

Peggy continues to make us laugh with her antics around the house. In order to endear herself to our Lena (and therefore working towards a green sign on his page) she is having to learn to contain her youthful excitement at certain times. She is understanding the lessons and that she still gets a big fuss as long as she is calm. She's a lovely girl when al is said and done and is making us laugh quite a lot.
She went to training on Saturday and I thought she showed a lot of promise (but I am a bit biased!). Until this morning, we'd not really met any other dogs on our walks nor seen any cats or squirrels. I'd never thought I'd be writing to say I was disappointed at such a situation, but in this case I am! All however was rectified today when Lena met one of her arch enemies, a black lab. I'd swear Peggy was looking at her thinking.... 'why on earth are you both doing all that barking?' The next dog to come into the park definitely got her interest though.....a little pug! She didn't bark or cry, but was very locked on to watching it as it walked away from her and she was definitely a little excited so we will have to be vigilant with small dogs, though it's too early to say whether its just curiosity on her part.
The other excitement of the day is her first toilet while out on a walk! Isn't it strange what we greyhound owners celebrate? Everything in that department has been confined to the garden until now so hopefully a sign she's starting to see our walks in a different light!

Peggy is a bundle of fun who loves a good play with the toys, whether they squeak or not! She is walking nicely on the lead and has been clean in the house. Being so young she has a fair amount to learn about boundaries and that is work in progress! She's good at bedtime and there's been no crying overnight or any other sort of fuss. The first night she paced for 10 mins before she settled down and but she was fine the next night. She just loves big style to say hello when we get up in the morning and she is a total fuss pot! It was earlier than planned but we had to leave her and Lena for a few hours today and she and Lena just snoozed (we were able to watch them on the camera) . Lena has been terrible on her own since we lost Lola but today she didn't get upset at all.
Peggy met our friends at the stables this afternoon and they all loved her but everyone commented on how big she is! We're planning to take her to training tomorrow to meet more friends so that should be fun! Watch this space.....

Peggy met Lena this afternoon and neither seemed to dislike the other so she has come home with us to see how they get along together in our home. She's a lovely girl and seems to be a quick learner. She's had an afternoon nap and then eaten all her dinner. Nothing has phased her so far. Fingers and paws crossed.
No dog could ever replace our Lola but we would very much like Lena to enjoy having Peggy for company. As for Paul and I, we will just be content if we can give another of these gorgeous hounds a loving home
