Stanley's has only been in his new home 10 days but it seems like its much longer. His mom said he is very keen to learn new things and very eager to please. This morning Spritz wanted to flirt and play...little madam! Stanley just stood with his tail wagging. Think it was too early 7:30 in the morning for playtime. Every day he goes for extra training walks, this is so he can see all the big wide world has to offer. He has met small and large dogs with good manners and a waggy tail,no problem. He's quickly learnt new basic commands and he likes the treats best at the end. He's a very happy boy,its so lovely to know he's got such a loving home and family. They couldn't love him more xx

We couldn't wait to say hello so we called in to see Stanley this afternoon. He has wasted no time in getting his paws well under the table. He's such a happy lad and already adored by his new sister Alice and his mom and dad. He could not have wished for a better home we are so happy for him. Paddy and Spritz will be saying hello on our morning walk xx

Thanks so much to Norman for taking Stan to the park this morning. Stan is fantastic lad, he is in the first kennel by the door and he greets you with a very happy bark and waggy tail. He is tall, dark, very handsome and loves a cuddle! Xxx

Stanley was an absolute gent in Brueton Park today. He jumped in the car unaided,Walked well on the lead and no probs in meeting other breeds whatsoever. Let's hope the
Usual drawbacks of big black and male don't hold up that permanent home for too long. He deserves that sofa now

Please prospective owners do not be put off by the larger ones. I have a large greyhound girlie and it has never been a problem they can curl up into the smallest of spaces.

So glad Stanley's foster family over Christmas where so impressed by this big Black beauty, that they keep putting forward his many good attributes, and I am sure when he finds his forever home his new family will update that list. A perfect weekend would be for all the longest stayers (there are a few at the moment, all with great foster reports) to be reserved. However I also still believe in fairies so not holding my breath lol. When we had our first 2 Greys we went to the kennels and said we want the longest residents, that's all our criteria was. Izzy & Dylan had both been there 1 year. The reason? They were Black and 6 years old, and didn't sell themselves. They both turned out to be amazing hounds and the love of our lives and are still greatly missed. They started our love story with the breed and I hope and pray that all the black beauties at Daybreak's will soon be doing the same for some lucky families out there. Then my faith in fairies will be rewarded lol xx

I know I've already commented twice but just wanted to add as I fostered him over the new year he wasn't at all bothered by fireworks so there's another plus to his already long list of plus's

The often used term gentle giant fits Stanley well. He is a big lad and so well behaved and friendly. He likes to play but he also loves to chill out too. I love to say hello to him every time I come to Daybreaks and I'm a bit puzzled he is still waiting for his forever home. I hope his chance will come soon as he's such a lovely boy I'm sure he will be a wonderful addition to any family xx

I have to agree with the comments made about this lovely lad. I took him into the sand run on Friday morning for a play.

After taking off his lead he trotted gently off, having a little sniff here and there and making his way slowly up to the end. I turned away, and when I turned back a 38kg black object was hurtling towards me like a rocket!!!! I did get out of the way in time' and Stanley came to a halt in a shower of sand! He then trotted across to the gates, play time was obviously over and his bed was calling. He just makes me smile bless him.

He may be a large lad but he is a true gentle giant and so loving. His very own sofa must be out there. Xx

Stanley you sound a star, and at the risk of upsetting the small dog owners I have to say that many (not all) small dogs need training as well as Greys who think it is their job when first retired to show sometimes negative interest in them. After all they have spent a few years being encouraged to "chase" small furies. We meet lots of miniature and smaller breeds on our walks with FNF and Nina and a lot of them think it's OK to bark and challenge our hounds even from the other side of the road. The park is a nightmare as they race round barking and take a run at the Greys on leads. Rarely has any owner of them on leads told them to be quiet,, I am sure that Stanley will learn as our hounds have to ignore them and have some dignity lol Good luck lovely boy you seem a fast learner x

Someone please give this boy a forever home you won't regret it after fostering Stanley for the last 2 weeks I wish I could but unfortunately I really can't. Ok yes he's a big lad with a heart just has big! but he's good on a lead I walked him together with my greyhound Tommy quite easily, he slept in the lounge on his own quite happily he's been left for nearly 7-8 hours as I have had to work without any mess or destroying anything he's playful & loving. The only thing I would say is I think he needs some work around small dogs I am not sure he maybe just being really inquisitive? but a bit of training & time I believe will sort that out. I couldn't walk past a cat when I first had Tommy without near war breaking out but he pretty well ignores them now I really think Stanley won't to learn so go on give this gorgeous lad a chance x

If circumstances were different I would have them both over for Christmas, but I have to work on the 25th, 26th and new years eve. New years day will not be a good start to the year for me as I will have been made redundant as of 23:59hrs on the 31/12/2018. But i will leave me more time for greyhounds!

We took the lovely Stan out for the Sheldon country park walk today. What a great boy, he's very friendly and inquisitive with non- greyhounds and although he is a big strong boy, he's really easy to handle... For such a big boy he has a very squeaky yap though! So cute. He was really good for his walk and so very gentle when I gave him a treat at the end. I really hope he finds a home soon he's a fantastic boy.
