Wolfy

male, 21 years old, Fawn

Added by DaybreaksRuth

Updated: Monday 01 Jan

Wolfy is a fabulous fawn boy. He was in a foster home recently due to an injury to his pad which has now healed. We take him over to the local park where he is anxious to start with, with other breeds, but once introduced he is happy - the photo is of Wolfy and Cracker who belongs to Sarah who is a volunteer at Daybreaks.

He will need someone who has the time and patience to train him and be strong enough to handle as he is a big boy but he is a big softy!

Wolfy has had 0 cuddles today (2 all together).
If you register or login, you can give him a cuddle too!

These beauties steal your heart & we should be forever grateful for every second we are priviledged enough to have them in our lives & our homes. We just never know how long we will be granted . . .

I have just had the sad news that the gorgeous Mr Wolf lost his battle against bone cancer - he was only 8 years old.

I am so grateful to Ann who gave him a chance of love and a wonderful home and much needed TLC after he had been let down so badly before. He was a wonderful loving boy with plenty of character.

Run free precious boy xxxxx

So pleased Wolfy has found the right home. He deserves it. Thank you for taking him into your family and giving him the love he deserves. He can now enjoy his retirement after a top class racing career, over 100 races and running with the best.

Wolfy what a star he is now finding his feet he is very loving and has so much character and he is slowly being introduced to all my friends dogs outside then they come to the house no problems he just needs time and patience i am very careful in the garden and outside as he wants to chase cats and small furry dogs . He likes to have the covers over him at night or he wont settle lots of treats for good behaviour and a chilled approach is what he needs and lots of love he follows me in the kitchen for grub and has started to put on weight he likes to lie in the porch and watch the world go by and he still likes to wipe his mouth on me when he has eaten his grub and sits with me on the sofa and puts his head on my lap he loves to be stroked and will then fall to sleep his kennel coat has now gone this boy is not aggressive with other breeds he needs time he just wants to play and sniff what a star

Hi Wolfy. We met again this morning and you are still looking as handsome and full of life. Given more space, I am sure Dennis and Floppy would love to have you around. But I am sure the best person would come in your life and both of you will cherish every moment of each other. A big woof from Dennis and Floppy!

Hello, it's Monty here, I don't understand why people say that you don't like other dogs, you seemed to like me a lot when we met today and went out for a walk together with my two brothers and then in the kennels we shared a run and had a cuddle on the sofa. i know that i think that i am a small furry greyhound but my mum insists on calling me a collie cross and that's why i come down to Daybreaks to say hello to all of you and to make sure that you can accept me as one of your own. well, you obviously did so that's ok then, maybe that means that someone nice will take you home and give you lots of love and cuddles like we get with our mum and dad. lots of licks and woofs from Monty. xxx

Wolfy arrived back at the kennels on Saturday, and as his foster carers could not handle him with other dogs being such a strong boy, we decided to start some 'serious' training with him. He loved Elmdon Park and wasn't bothered by the ducks. He barked at a couple of small fluffy dogs and got to meet 2 German Shepherds. The owner of the Shepherds was lovely and allowed Wolfy to sniff them as he was very excited to see them at first! Back at the kennels he spent time with Cracker (pictured) and he eventually fell asleep on the sofa in the run after such an exciting day!

Hello again! That sounds very nasty cut to Wolfy's paw, poor Wolfy. It looks like you have done a good job with Wolfy, he doesn't seem at all bothered by the Staffie. Is he a good boy in the house now? I think he has a very good chance now of getting a wonderful home. Well done, and i hope his progress continues. :D

Hello Chloe. Wolfy started limping. After a trip to the vets it was felt he had something in his pad possibly picked up during one of his many walks from the kennels. His pad was cut open 3 ways during the operation and hence we knew this would take a while to heal. Trying to keep his dressing dry was a nightmare so this is why he was fostered. He is doing really well in his foster home, his pad is now healed - his only problem is he not good with other breeds of dogs so his foster family are helping him by training him - I am sure he will find a home very soon!

How did Wolfy do this to his paw too?
Yes Wolfy is a big boy but when spent some time with he knows to trust you. After his meal he used to rub his head up your leg to clean his face and when you are stroking him he would lean his head on you! He came form the same kennels as Gem and they used to be kennelled together. Wolfy really deserves a good home as he has been with you for a quite a long time know and he needs to be given a chance!I know this because i used to handle him when he used to be at our kennels aswell.
