Today, The Stig finally lost his battle with cancer and I had to put him to sleep. He was the most beautiful, lovely natured dog, even when he was being a proper tinker! I love you Stig and miss you already xxx

I have an update on my beautiful boy, The Stig. Unfortunately, the cancer has started it's journey to the lungs, as predicted, so we are on the last part of our time together. I am assured he is no pain right now, so he will be kept a very close eye on to ensure that doesn't change. :(

Thanks Mand. I'm not as brave as it sounds tho, I've had some moments and am not looking forward to his time at all, but I am determind for him to be as happy as can be for as long as can be. What I can tell you though is that my vets have been absolutely wonderful and I have been singing their praises locally like mad. They have done everything to make this as pain reduced as possible for both woofles and mad human. I'll pass your e-cuddle onto him IRL, he'll be most impressed xxx

How amazing though that Stig has already learned to climb the stairs again despite his limitations - he sounds like a very determined gentleman and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for him. Hi All, thanks for your good wishes. Stig has had to have his left rear leg amputated to take away the pain. Ironically, this is not the same one that was broken (ending his racing career). He is recovering well from the surgery and has re-learned how to get up and down stairs. Unfortunately, his prognosis is not much improved and I'll be lucky to still have him by easter.
But we have had a wonderful two years together so far and are making the very best of what time we have left. He is being spoilt rotten. xx

Check out the work being done by Noel Fitzpatrick (the TV's Bionic vet) in treating osteo also Ohio University in America have been researching into this dreadful disease and have been treating greys on other forums with new drugs which your vet should be able to get if you want. Sending you and Stig lots of hugs :( j x

It is with sad news I have heard from Stig's owner that he has been diagnosed with bone cancer. Sending all my love to Steph his owner the Stig xxxxx

Matt and I are getting to know each other and he seems to be settling in well. Let's see what our first night brings. Love him to bits already x

Matt is a gorgeous looking boy and i don't understand why he has not been chosen- surely it's not because he has had an injury? please believe me that it does not stop a greyhound being a wonderful companion, my Toby walks with a bad limp because of an untreated broken leg and Toby walks quite happily alongside his 'able-bodied' brothers and when he is in full flight you would never even notice, in every other way he is as perfect as any hound out there.please do consider giving this beautiful brave boy a loving home in time for christmas. xxx

Matt has really taken my heart and is such a beautiful boy. He's such a character and he make me smile when he was prancing around in the run. He is gorgeous and such a looker. I have my eye on him to be honest, but we're back to persuading Dad again! (;

he is stunning and you'd never know he had a broken leg thanks to his trainer/owner having it treated, he is a perfectly beautiful hound.xxx

Mattie deserves a great home after what he’s been through. When he was racing he broke his leg in lots of places and had to have pins either side of his leg, but he was so brave it was untrue any other dog would have cried so much but not Matt. He is fine on his leg now and doesn’t take any notice that ever happened, and is as bright as ever! He can be a little bit naughty and vocal at times but knows his place when you tell him off, but he gives you the puppy dog look and your heart melts!
