I can't say thank you enough to you for giving Minnie a chance. As you know she was returned for pulling her owner over and for attacking another dog and being very aggesive with other breeds. We were strongly advised by her owners to not rehome her. However with a couple of months of training at Daybreaks, Minnie became a different dog and with your continued training, love and support she has had a chance of a wonderful home and life. We believe every dog deserves a chance and we have proved it several times now with returned dogs that they CAN change - if the RIGHT training and support is given. Thank you so much Rachel.

she is such a sweet little girl and also deserves to find a home as she is already fully housetrained i am surprised that nobody had fallen in love with her yet. at 7 she is only 6 months older than 2 of my boys which is no age at all and she will have lots of love to give for a long time to come. xxx

So many black beauties at the moment, but don't overlook this sweet lady, she's still young enough to give you many years of joy and companionship. From the comment before mine it seems she has come on leaps and bounds with the right people giving her the love and care she needed and sounds as though she is ready for her forever home now. Great job done again at Daybreaks. Good luck girl x

What a difference a bit of time and patience makes, I was there the day Minnie came back and oh my what a different dog. She is confident and happy and is crying out for her forever home, fingers crossed someone will choose her soon.

Hi there, I havent had chance to log on for a while, so am having a quick crafty look before I launch into work!!
So many dogs being returned, its so heart breaking. I agree totally with Ina, there are lots of dogs who dont get on with other breeds, but every dog deserves a good loving home and acceptance, well said. I have now got 3 greys, and while Ruby and Jo Jo are happy to pootle along around other dogs, Myles is very inquisitive and loves to howl at them from across the park even!! But he is getting better and starting to pull less to go see. Its a quirk of his personality and we love him! Daybreaks is so special and supportive its hard to imagine anyone could give up on a grey without even trying, and when that just doesnt work it is genuinely heartbreaking for the owners as well. But to just let go is so sad. I know they will all have a happy ending though just like the zillions of dogs that are in their forever homes because of all the fantastic work you all do xxxxx

See you tomorrow morning Ruth - fingers crossed. Its not Minnie I worry about. Just need to ensure that Sully doesn't get scared. At the moment he knows that his life has changed but I am not sure he realises its because Biscuit has gone. I hope he likes Minnie if she likes us. xxxxx

Hi Tracy, Minnie is a sweet girl and has got on well with all her kennel mates - even when they have been quite bossy towards her. As you have read, she was returned. (sadly her previous owners strongly recommended that we should not rehome her - however at Daybreaks we believe EVERY dog can change with the right training) Therefore we assessed her for a week, allowing her to settle back into kennel life and then thought we would start the long hard process of trying to introduce and train her with other breeds.
It was a long hard slog on the first day..... it took approx 10 minutes before we had her muzzle off with Cracker as shown in the photo! This is not to say she will be a breeze with other breeds straight away but she just needs the right training and she responds so well. She is a clever girl and very clean in her kennel. Bring Sully along on Saturday and take them both for a walk and see what you think..... Thinking of you still..... know how hard it must be for you losing Biscuit xxx

i am surprised that Minnie is still at the kennels as she is a lovely little lady who is fully housetrained and very well mannered. she adores attention and loves to play and then comes to you for a proper cuddling session, a very affectionate little girl and so deserving of someone to offer her a forever home and the chance of learning to tolerate other breeds. keep fingers crossed it won't be too long. xxx

Ruth, just read Minnies story again. Do you think she would be okay with Sully? If so I may bring him along on saturday to meet her. I adore the blacks but worry if Sully will be bothered as he was with Raffles. Black probably reminds him of Ollie too much. How big/small is she?

I hope Minnie finds a home real soon, she is absolutely gorgeous, she loves playing in the run with you then coming over for a cuddle, its a shame she was returned but the right home is waiting for her where she can be taught properly. I really believe she will make somebody a fantastic pet. I love her!! xxx

Minnie is such a sweet little girl and she does deserve a home where she can just be. i can't see her being with us too long as she is already fully housetrained and all she needs is a little attention when there is other breeds about, should not be a problem really. good luck sweetheart. xxxx

Hi Kallie (Ina), I totally know what you mean - I could never let one of mine go.... to me they are a commitment and can only learn from how they are taught and we have proved it over and over from returnees that having the right training and owner makes them behave differently. Fate has played a hand for Minnie and we will find the right home for her.....

This is so sad that she has been returned. One of mine is not good with other breeds and it can be hard but i just simply could never let him go despite the fact that all three of mine have had me over several times. Hopefully she will find a new home soon, yes it's easier if they are other dog friendly but to be honest there are plenty other breed dogs who also dont accept other dogs and as long as you are able to control your dog and if need be muzzle it then it does not have to be a problem. Big hug for you gorgeous little lady, you seem to be doing very well with Cracker dog on the photo. Ina and the boys (especially Rossi who agrees with you whole heartedly in disliking other dogs!!!)x

Minnie is such a lovely, cute greyhound. I have seen her a few times now, and we saw her again last weekend. I walked along with her whilst one of the volunteers was walking her, and she walked well on the lead.

She has such a lovely face, and when i got home I cried because I felt so sorry for her. The way she looked up at me with those sad eyes just broke my heart on Sunday night :-( . I really do hope that she finds a forever home soon. Minnie is lovely. Good luck Minnie. Lots of love and big cuddles from Rachel xxx

Minnie was returned to the kennels after being in home for 2 years. She has always been keen with other breeds and unfortunately she was not muzzled whilst out on a walk and pulled her owner over and attacked another dog which resulted in her being returned.

As you can see from the photo with Cracker, Sara's dog, she is doing really well with other breeds and with the right owners, she will be a wonderful pet. She is clean in her kennel every morning and loves cuddles. I hope this little girl, despite her age, finds a home soon.
