Yayyyyyy been there, done that and got the T-shirt!!!!! The failed foster parent t-shirts have arrived and I am the proud owner of one!!!!

I have successfully fostered and rehomed many greys with my job at Daybreaks, but Wispa was my first failure - I took her home with me as she was not eating in the kennels and the rest is history.....!

If you are a member and would like the t-shirt to prove it - they are available at Daybreaks for £15.00.... I want to massively thank Mark and Jenny (owners of Nina and Tony aka Fat neck Finlay) for arranging and donating these to help raise funds for the continuing improvements at Daybreaks. xxxx

Just over a month has passed since I lost my precious Wispa. I miss her so much I ache. She is buried at the kennels along with the ashes of Tara, Holly, Shrew, Jess, Max, Basil, Annie, Freckles, Maggie and Georgie so they will always be close to me in the work I do at Daybreaks. Wonderful happy memories remain.....

This is such terribly sad news Ruth, we know that she meant the world to you. Only speaking from my own experience (which is so very limited compared to yours) it does get easier over time - I will never forget the pain of losing Mia, but every single day now, months later, we say to each other several times "Do you remember when she....?" and it always makes us laugh or smile. However sad their passing, I know none of us will ever regret having taken them into our lives. Wispa was a lucky and blessed girl. Thinking of you .... xx

Our beautiful Wispa became so ill so suddenly and we had to let her slip away. A piece of my heart went with her today but I have a piece of hers. She made me smile every day - she was so beautiful. Daisy is losing weight too, despite eating everything a.and more that you give her. The vets have said that it's her age, and that she too is too frail to undergo ay exploratory procedures. We spoil her rotten and hopefully will be celebrating her 13th birthday in a coupke of weeks'time. You are right, enjoy every moment and give them the best life you can x x

My beautiful Wispa is still losing weight despite having B12 injections and treatment for a possible irritable bowel. I had a long discussion yesterday with the vet - she is too frail to undergo an anaesthetic for in depth investigations so at the moment every day is, as always, very precious....

Dear auntie Ruth and uncle rob we hope you had a lovely holiday in Italy we have not been on here for a while but now nana is back up and running I miss all my friends at daybreak but this week nana is looking after poppy my aunties beadle which is good we are having lots of fun together and we are getting into things getting the gate open to the kitchen to see what's going on poppy is very good at getting the gate open now I know how to do it hehe good fun though big hugs to you all tinker and nana Xxx

I can finally breathe! I have spent a worrying day waiting for news.... Wispa had conscious scans as she is too fragile to have a GA. From what was found (although without a GA and biopsy it cannot be 100% guaranteed) it looks like her main problem is an irritable bowel. Thanks everyone for their kind messages here and by text - it means an awful lot and big thanks to Chris at Fivelands for looking after her.... we are hopefully on the road to recovery :-)

My gorgeous precious girl has been losing weight... she has had blood tests and B12 injections and this has not helped so she is going to Fivelands for a scan on Wednesday. I am beside myself and keeping everything crossed that we can find out what is wrong with her.... and get her sorted.... she means the world to me.....

Oh dear, but they never seem to learn, Jay has lost several nails but never a dew claw.
Greys don't seem to understand that they should age gracefully and become sensible animals.....

Poor Wispa is feeling sorry for herself - yesterday she showed her open class running speeds and managed to lose her dew claw and a nail from her front paw. Lots of blood but lots of TLC in return!

Oh bless her. Bet she's getting the most enormous hugs this evening! Gent had had his lesion removed today. Picked him up from the vets at 4.30 pm and he's been stuck in his bed staring into space ever since - I think he's worried to shut his eyes, in case he wakes up with another hole in his leg!! He was in Fivelands in Moseley and they said they had a few Greys in today. Where was Wispa? Maybe they were all keeping each other company in recovery?!! Glad she's home safe and sound. Mand x
