I have been too upset to post anything over the last few weeks. However, I wanted to thank you all for your wishes on the passing of my beloved dog James. James became part of our family in 2011 and settled into life with his forever family. We could never have wished for a better match, he was loyal, obedient, he had a great sense of fun but above all he was my best friend. Through the good and bad times he was present with a knowing look and a huge heart. Although he was more poorly than I could ever have known he stood by my side on my wedding day in March and loved every minute of the that special day. I was so proud of him. Our family will never be the same without him. I miss his footsteps on the kitchen floor, his eager eyes at dinner time, his quiet stubbornness whilst on our walks and his presence throughout our home. My border collie Arnold (the complete opposite personality) misses him terribly.

To all the staff at Daybreaks kennels thank you for allowing me to own a dog as special as James, he truly changed my life, an angel in a racing jacket. We were truly blessed the day that we found each other. I am still so sad, but we will forever cherish the memories of this wonderful soul. Special thanks to Ruth for listening to all of my questions, for being there for all of the advice and especially for devoting your life to these wonderful hounds. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and I know James was eternally grateful for the chance that you gave him. Goodbye James, I love you and will miss you forever. X

What a sad and bitter sweet piece of news this is. Such a happy occasion shared with gorgeous James and then the worst thing we all dread. My thoughts go out to James's owners at this time. Hold on tight to those happy memories xx

Run free, James. So sad that you have had to leave for Rainbow Bridge but how lovely that you were there for the wedding. The memories will always be cherished. xx

A few weeks ago, Neil, James' owner called in to the kennels to tell me the wonderful news that he was getting married and James was to go to the wedding!

On Wednesday, Neil called to say that the wedding went well but sadly whilst on honeymoon abroad James had become unwell at home and was diagnosed with bone cancer and the decision was made to let him slip away.

His owners are understandably heartbroken and so am I - he was a special boy and Neil told me he was the best present he had ever had. I am just so grateful he was one of the lucky ones to find a loving wonderful home. Run free fella - you have left hearts broken but many wonderful memories behind.
