Well Bob (now Riley) has been at home for his third week now and he's settling in famously! :)
It only took him 3-4 days to get used to the stairs up to our front door, he's been eating really well, enjoying lots of fuss and been sleeping through the nights. Only one accident (which was our fault for not reading his signals..) in his first week and we had out first trip to the vets the other day to get his boosters done and to sort out a mukky ear and he was a really good boy, the vet loved him :)
Walks have been a dream and leaving him hasn't been a problem at all. Everyone who meets him absolutely falls in love with him, from random people on walks through to all of our family members, he's far more popular than us!
He pays little or no attention to other dogs, although I think the firmest friend he's made so far was a mad little girl whippet we met in the pet shop - she just loved him and he seemed to love her too <3

We want to thank Daybreaks for all their hard work and we hope to see some of you (and the hounds) on some of the walks and social events soon x

We're so thrilled to have met and reserved Bob today - we have our home visit tomorrow so fingers crossed for that and then all being well, Bob will be coming home with us next weekend! :)
We're going to have to think of another name, as my dad's called Bob so could get confusing!

poor little boy, it must be very distressing for him as he will have no idea why he has been discarded like an unwanted object...i keep my fingers crossed that he will have a wonderful forever home very soon. xxx

Oh what a shame - he really is a beautiful boy, I just wish we could take them all. It would be easier if we just came to live at the kennels! It doesn't sound as though he would get on with Ellie the cat too well, but I am sure you won't be at the kennels too long, cos you are just lovely!

What a shame that another lovely boy has been returned. I'm sure he's in the right place to find a new owner soon.

Poor Bob is very stressed at being back in kennels. We have spent the day trying to calm him..... let's hope someone falls in love with him soon and gives him a true loving home that he can call his forever.
