Great news. I'm so happy for you all and to learn that she has settled in so well.

Nancy is definitely not a sad doggy at all - these photos must have been taken in the rare moments she sits still! She is loving and so funny - really excited about everything - never sits still! We love her and even Tigger who is a very quiet dog seems to have taken to her well - Nancy keeps licking her! We lost our other grey Belle a few weeks ago and I am just so sad these two never met as they would have loved each other - Belle was nuts too! So fingers crossed, its all going well. We have to tame her "nipping" when she gets too excited but I am sure she will calm down a little (but not too much i hope!!).

Thank you to Ruth who helped home Nancy with us - a great match for us all.

When I saw her at the Open Day in July she was such a happy waggy-tailed girl. I don't believe she is sad as Greyhounds are used to living in a kennel environment with other dogs. The photographs are perhaps a little misleading. I have some great ones of her at the Open Day, one of which I sent to Ruth.

I'm very, very tempted but it would depend on my other dog who is extremely submissive to the point of being frightened of some dogs and has quite serious arthritic problems which make him feel somewhat vulnerable, accepting her. Also, I'm going on holiday next month for almost three weeks. I will still have access to the internet while I'm away so Nancy will get her usual morning cuddle.

Medaftboutdogs,

The Honcho dogs are famous in the Greyhound world especially Top Honcho but siring 10,000 pups is staggering. I had no idea that certain studs were bred from on this scale. There needs to be some reasonable limits set or RGTs are fighting a losing battle. I wonder how many of those pups are still alive especially those who don't make the grade?

Oh Doggirl you made me laugh - 4,000 pups is alot, so I looked up Top Honcho (my 2 greys dad & grandad) he has sired.....wait for it.......10,000 pups - shattering isn't it!!!!

I was rather shocked to see that Nancy's sire has fathered 4316 pups - that's not a mistake - 4,316. Do they use AI? Otherwise he must be dog-tired!

No wonder RGT's are so busy!

Rehoming is always difficult during the summer months as many people have a holiday planned so it is not a good time to get a new dog.

Was surprised to see you still there today lovely. And even having been in the kennels a while you were still keen to give out a smile and a waggy tail and clearly just wanted fuss.

She looks lovely! Could she live with cats? I have never had a greyhound before would she be ok for a newby?

I love Nancy too. You will enjoy meeting her and her constantly wagging tail. Would love to adopt her but my Border Collie is frightened of most other dogs (though sometimes he is okay if they appear not threatening from his perspective). He has suffered from arthritis since I adopted him as a youngster and perhaps this makes him feel especially vulnerable. He has just started stronger medication but sadly, so far, it doesn't seem to be working.

I picked Nancy up from the vets where she was speyed this afternoon. Her tail has not stopped wagging and she smiles when you talk to her. She is really beautiful and her trainer says she will make a great pet.
