Hi Michelle. It was lovely to hear how well your Mom & Flossie are both doing...it just proves that it's never to late to discover greyhounds ! l hope that they both have many morre happy years together !!! Just one thing...and please forgive me for being a little bit naughty here...but l find it amazing that owning a greyhound has made your Moms baldy bits grow back and has turned her into a total food monster !!!! I know greyhounds are therapeutic, but that is just incredible !!! Of course, we all know what you meant, but if you re- read your comment, l'm sure you will see the funny side !! lt made me smile anyway. :-) Best wishes to you and Roy...and love to your Mom & Flossie. Just arrived back from visiting my mom and of course the lovely Flossie, just thourght that it was time for a Flossie update as mom has now had her nearly 6 months !! Flossie is amazing she has absolutely transformed my moms life , we just could not have asked for a better outcome for mom, mom has had dogs before but never a greyhound and she just wished that she had not had to wait until she was nearly 80 before having her fisrt !! I always worried about mom been lonley after losing dad, but Flossie has just transformed moms life, all her badly bits have nearly all gone and she it a total food monster !! my two absolutely adore her ans she does them, they completely wreck moms bungalow when we go, they are so exceited to see each other all the mats go flying, the cushions are tossed in the air and they completely raid moms frige !! A HUGE THANKYOU FLOSSIE you are AMAZING xxx

What a lovely lovely post Michelle! Brought tears to my eyes.
How fabulous that they have found each other. The love that Mum will get from Flossie is truly priceless....just having her there to care about, talk to and be loved by will make such a difference.
These wonderful hounds ask for so little but give so much back. You're so right - my life has certainly totally changed since having Bob (and Orla)
The picture of your Mum & Flossie is beautiful.

(Love to you, Roy and the boys xx)

I have just arrived back from my moms ( who has just adopted Flossie ) and I just felt that I had to post something about her ( mom has not got wifi - so cannot post ) Flossie is just the most amazing gentle affectionate funny polite ( not like my two ) wonderful girl ever - I could wax lirical about her all night long but the main thing is the happieness that she has brought into my moms life.
I lost my father a few years ago, mom and dad had been inseperable sine thier twenties and dad passed away aged 79, mom has been so lonely these past few years and Flossie has already turned my moms life around, Flossie has given mom a reason to get up and out and about showing off her beautigul girl, the companionship Flossie has given mom already is priceless, its so wonderful to see mom so happy , I really cannot thank Ruth enough for what she does and for all the lives that she has changed x

Hi Claire R. Just to help put your mind at rest as I know how much you loved Flossie, I came and sat with you and Flossie for a while on Sunday, she has gone out on trial with my mom, I stayed with mom for a couple of days to help Flossie find her feet, she is beautiful and so well mannered ( all of which I am sure are down to the loving home you gave her ) Flossie will want for nothing and will be much loved she is already the centre of attension !! my mom does not work and so she will never be left for very long, she has already met my two greys, they all got on really well and Flossie is my Blades sister ( they look so alike, its those georfeous big brown eyes ) I hope this brings you some comfort as I know myself the not knowing must be terrible. love to you and your family x

Sadly Flossie is coming back to the kennels on Sunday. This is what her owner has told us about her.

Flossie is a quiet, gentle well behaved greyhound. She is good with children but not so good with cats and other small animals. She is a bit of a fussy eater but loves anything that is covered in fish. She is also fully toilet trained. We are only rehoming her due to a change in personal circumstances.

So sorry to hear Flossie gets so stressed in kennels - I hope that between our lovely supporters and volunteers we can help. I am currently looking after Cutie at home with a broken leg so I am so sorry I am unable to help at the moment.

Hi, Can anyone help us out short term with Flossie. We've got to move out of our house for approx 4 weeks at the end of May whilst structural work is carried out and will be staying with relatives. Unfortunately Flossie can't come with us as my father doesn't like dogs. I am reluctant to send her to boarding kennels as she becomes very stressed and stops eating. She is a beautiful dog and well trained. She likes other greyhounds but doesnt get on with other breeds or cats. Can anyone help? My number is 079400 34263. Thanks, Claire.

I left her at home today as she wouldn't eat any breakfast and seemed to like laying in the hallway first thing this morning. I left her a big bed by the front door and put the camera on her and have been watching her intermittently throughout the day and she has slept continuously only stirring a couple of times to change position! What a poppet!

I picked up this beautiful girl from the vets this afternoon as she has been speyed. I don't know what her pet name is so my friend who has just popped in suggested Flossie was a good name for her! She is just gorgeous! She will stop at our house until she has recovered from her op.
