lol... Big mistake in the microwave! What I do if its still a bit frozen just put a bit of boiling water on it. You will get into a routine, I just get three out each night, and store them in a tuberware container, normally they are pretty defrosted in the morning. Good luck let me know how you are getting on with it. xxxxxxx

Hi, no I just half the tube of meat in the morning and the other half in the evening for each dog, with a cup full of mixer food each feed. Dosen't look alot, but I think the meat is filling?! I think you would have to judge the amount of biscuits for each dog. Billy is huge 38kgs so he has a few more biscuits with his meat, and they still have treats in there kong when I go to work, but as I say they all look fab and healthy. Defo worth a try Mau. xxxx

Thanks mandy will go over in the week to find tpms, do you give them raw veg and cooked rice as well as the raw meat as this bit i find confusing or just the meat and mixer. mau xxxx

Hi Mau, Yes any one can order from them, or you can collect. They are on padgets lane, opposite the Arrow Valley.
Its not a very nice place, if you have a tickled stomach! I buy tripe and chicken they come in 1lb tubes. I buy the mixer dry food from them to, its about £10 for 15kg bag. I only use the mixer to bulk out the raw meat. They also deliver for free, if you order over £40 I think. Hope this helps. Its a great way to feed the Greys in a very inexpensive way, and they love it and look fab on it to. xx

So if i understand this right you give your greys raw meat? do you blend it wiith the raw veg too or just roughly chop it? do you give them offal too? do they have runny poos? how often wud you put a raw egg in their food? and with the bones do you give it as a meal or a treat? and wud they be raw chicken portions with bones in? sorry for so many questions as i have looked into it briefly today. mau's greys xxxxx

I'm so pleased for you that sleeping is now much better. I know how dreadful those distrubed nights are!! Actually now my 2 are up stairs I feel happier, they were in the kitchen and I used to dread something awful like a fire happening - cos they nearly always start in kitchens - am I a worry wart or what!!!

hi maureen, glad that things have worked out with the sleeping arrangements, we have had ellie since feb this year and i was intending to not let her sleep upstairs in the bedroom, that only last one night! she sleeps next to our bed on her quilt and apart from the odd toilet break in the middle of the night ( not nice this time of year ! ) she sleeps all night and we all get a good nights sleep and some times a lie in if we are lucky. good luck. ann and ellie - may.xx

Thursday 08 Dec 12:09

Hi Maureen.. sooo glad this worked for you!!! It helped mine loads, they are fine when we are not in, but its different knowing you are in the house and they cant see you. i think it just depends on how people feel about having there hounds upstairs. Good girl Cara xxxxx

i would like to thank personally everyone for there advice about cara and her crying, it has done the trick! she has a bed in our bedroom so she can come and go as she feels. Sometimes it is just to see if we are there and then goes down stairs to bonny to sleep and othertimes shr sleeps in our room. I really can't thank you enough everyone now is getting a goods nights sleep. xxxxxxxxxx

Hi there, I had the same issue with my 2 almost 12 months ago, I tried everything everyone suggested, and in the end though I felt I was giving in, they came & slept in my bedroom - peace & quiet - bliss. After a few days we moved them onto the landing just outside our bedroom with the door open and then eventually the door was closed. We all get a good nights sleep now and just occasionally I have to get up to do a loo run in the night. Have you got a DAP plugged in too? They work soooo well. Best of luck to you.

Monday 05 Dec 08:18

Hi Maureen sorry if you already do some of this - I'm at work and need to be quick :) They usually settle fine if they're either in your bedroom with you or outside with a child gate and their beds but the gate stops them getting in (if you prefer them outside the room) but they can see you. You can teach climbing stairs - I use two large bath towels, one round the dogs chest and the other under their tum just in front of their back legs then tempt them upstairs and when you want them to come down put the towels round them and walk them down the stairs by picking up their back end and moving it down a step then doing the same to the front end - like a puppet, the long towels mean you can stay upright and safe too. You;ll soon find they are zoomingup and down stairs themselves ... Also check out their food - if its Burns that's great otherwise make sure its less than 20% protein and avoid anything with bright colours. I'd also make sure they were getting a good hours walk morning and night and a final wee walk about 10pm then they are more likely to settle and maybe some pasta in their last feed to give thema full tum and so like they will be tired :) Do use your training vouchers and bring them to one of our classes - if you're in Redditch we're at Immanuel Hall, Highters Heath Lane which isn't far from Junc 3 of the M42 every Saturday (not next week tho), just about every dog benefits from training which helps strengthen the bond between you and the dog, you can tire them out and have some fun :) Give me a ring if you ant to join us 0774 7754759 J xx

Hi Maureen, we had this when we had our scond, we found if we let them sleep upstairs with us, as they could see us this meant they didnt cry and bark, but just went straight back to sleep.... do you lock them in a room? it depends how you feel about having dogs upstairs, but we found once thy could see us they just settled sraight back down. xxx

Sunday 04 Dec 22:20

ok sending out an sos can any give some advice please!!!!!! do not know what to do about the crying at night from at this present time i say bonny and hubby says cara. i have done the things ruth has suggested tablets, fleece coat, let out to do buisness 20 mins prior to us going to bed. have also let them out and not made eye contact for 1-2 mins but they think it is play time and not always do anything then when we let them back in and we are in bed the barking and crying starts, hubby is up at 5am and it is getting to him as no one in the house is getting much sleep. Please any advice would be gratefully recieved. maureen xxxx

Forgot to say, make sure the area where Cara is weeing is cleaned with a product that takes the smell out, because they will just keep marking the same spot. Try Simple solutions you can get it from pets at home, its about £5. Ruth recommends this. Also sold at the kennels. Hope this helps xxxx

Thursday 01 Dec 09:24

Hi Mau, I have this problem with Fizz. She is walked and let out before we go to work. But still manages to squeeze a wee out. Not every day though. Ruth suggested to me, to put her in a fleece coat, to make her feel secure. We have a camera, and Fizz does not looked stressed at all. So its a bit of a mystery. Try the coat, and just do loads of praise when she does wee outside, and try and ignore her wee's in the kitchen! I know it's hard, but its all still brand new for her. Good luck! xxxx

Hi Mau, so pleased you sticking at it. Sounds like you are having fun! I still have problems with my girls, jealous over the toys and me. But we are working with it, would never ever send them back. They mean the world to me, and bring such joy into the house. You will get there, it's very early days. You also have Ruth to help you and people on the web site, they all have great ideas, and experiences. Pixie my first Grey, used to wee, every day without fail, but they soon stop. I know its a pain, but Cara will learn that its wrong. You made me laff asking Hubby for number three, they are very addictive though. Take care, always here if you need me. ( I live in Redditch) xxxxx

Hi Mandy well what can i say there is never a dull moment when cara or camacara as she is affectionally known by all the family is around. As you know we have had some teething problems with her but we are in it for long haul, she is slowly getting there she still cries sometimes when she can't see me, the tablets and coat have worked at nights. We had a couple of accidents in the house weeing in the kitchen. They have been growling at each other and arguing over beds and just walking past each other really and barking, but i know it is just them finding their feet together. I also know they do like each other because if bonny leaves the room then cara will get up and follow and vice a versa. Cara has worked out that if she pushes at the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs she can climb over it and come upstairs which in turns makes bonny start to cry as she can't climb the stairs, like i said never a dull moment in our house. However she is a very loving girl who loves her food and treats, oh and cuddles and kisses from my family i.e. my two children lol, when my mum comes round she always brings doggy treats and they love it! some issues we still need to address i.e. jumping up, trying to take food of the side and a few other things. I have never regreted bringing her home with us as my keira loves it when cara comes into my bedroom and lies down next to her with her head on her lap. xxxxxx
