Marnie is going to the Great Greyhound Gathering at Nottingham racecourse on Saturday, we will look out for Daybreaks. Her sister Molly looks a real cutie, hope she gets snapped up soon.

Hi Doonie, Daybreaks have t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies to sell usually but we are totally out of stock at the moment. Due to have more in, in a couple of weeks. :-)

So glad Neil had the chance to take Marnie to see her Auntie Ruth last week. I'm hoping that we can put the video of her playing in the garden on here somehow, or at least leave a link. It's so lovely to see her so happy. She's still shy, especially of other dogs, but is learning to make friends slowly but surely. She's part of our family (right now she is throwing her toy goose round the house!), and we love her loads. PS. Really hoping Fire gets a forever home soon, he's still one of our favourite boys x Best wishes to all at Daybreaks (I'm wearing my hoodie where ever I can to advertise :)

Thank you Ruth for the advice on feeding Marnie up a bit, she's absolutely loving corned beef. Somehow she manages to pick that up before the rest of her meal! She's looking a bit better already, and her coat is lovely and glossy. Well done to everyone on the sleep over too, we are hoping to bring Marnie over to see you in the next few weeks. Thanks again. x

Marnie joined 20+ other greys for a 2 and a half mile walk on Cannock Chase yesterday. She seemed to benefit from being with greys again, even though it was pouring with rain. She is still a little shy, but soon settled and especially enjoyed the sausage and biscuit reward at the end of the walk. She even stood and had her nails clipped bless her! We are very happy with how Marnie is taking to her retirement, she is such a joy and we wouldn't be without her now.

Hi Susy, we would have loved to come to Kingsbury and may well do in the future, but the walk I spoke of is on Cannock Chase run by Monmore Green RGT and is much closer to our home. Neil works in Coleshill, but we live half hour down the toll road from the kennels, so we know Kingsbury area and will get to the next one. Hope to meet you soon.

An update on Marnie, well we are all besotted and she is doing really well. She is still a very clean girl (only 1 mishap in a week), loves going upstairs, hates coming down but will stay at the bottom if told to. She is a bit too interested in squirrels, but this one did run along the garden panel, way too tempting but we got her attention and herded her back in the house. She is a little timid with other dogs when out walking but is usually quiet and calm when they are around. She is great in the car and goes for walks on Cannock Chase now, as well as our local woods and park. We are still working on separation anxiety, and slowly she is learning that it's OK to be alone for a while. She adores children, and is quick to learn her boundaries. A wonderful pet and great company, we love her so much. She is going on the Great British Greyhound Walk close to our home next weekend, we think it will be good for her to see some other greys for a change. All in all, no regrets whatsoever, she's a star!

Day 2 Marnie's second day has gone really well. Mandy worked with her over night, and eventually managed to leave Marnie on her own in the kitchen, with the door shut and no one with her, without her stressing. We are so proud of what she has achieved in such a short time. She is adapting really well to her new environment. She is using outside to toilet and has been on a different walk each day to make each one interesting for her.

Marnie's first day went really well, she toileted outside, no accidents in the house. On her first walk up Hednesford hills she stood gobsmacked at the heath (all that space), and passed the small dog test with flying colours, we even stopped and chatted to the owner for a few minutes. Night time will be the real test, she cried every time we left her and Neil ended up sleeping on a chair in the kitchen! But we are determined to let her settle and will slowly over the next few nights be around slightly less each time until she feels safe in her new environment. We all love her to bits, she is so funny chucking her new pet duck around. Thanks to Ruth, and all at Daybreaks, we will keep in touch xx

This little girl is one lucky little girl! I had the pleasure of doing her home check today as there were plenty of volunteers to cover the kennels for me and it meant she could go to her new home. Her new family are lovely and I just hope she is a really good girl for them x

Marnie is just so sweet, she was so hot today at the kennels and we gave her a nice cool bath and then she lay in front of the large fan to try and keep cool, such a gentle little girl. xxx
