This is great news indeed. To borrow Tom's racing name, I am Delight(ed) for Tom! I was there when Tom was brought in by his family. As an observing third party, I could see how difficult for his family to leave him behind. Tom felt it too as he was in stress whilst seeing his family go.

It's good to know there is a good happy chapter to this. Here's hoping it will be long time arrangement and Tom's twilight years will be spent to the very family he loves. xxx

Now this story has made me very happy !! It breaks my heart that, because of illness / divorce / moving house etc people get to a point where they may have to give up their beloved companions. So very sad. It's nice to see though that will a little bit of planning / support, these situations can be resolved. :O) Well done, Tom ! Think of it as a little holiday away !

Just thought that I would mention, although may have already been thought of - The Cinnamon Trust may have a volunteer who could help with walking Tom?, their details can be found online.

Sometimes there are local small businesses who offer a walk your pet service but of course isn't free.

I am sure that this type of issue if faced by many people who have a dog but cannot walk them due to health issues.

Fabulous happy news! Tom's family are really missing him so much that they are going to have him back on Saturday. Due to their ill health they are unable to walk him but have found a friend who can help with his walks. If there is anyone in the Selly Oak area who could help Tom's owners with walking, please let me know.

Visited Daybreaks today to have our 3 greys claws clipped and took Toms tin of sardines as promised. Tom is a lovely boy, gave him a big a big cuddle. He seemed really restless and stressed, I wish he could find a new loving home to go to......xxxx

I felt so sorry for Tom today he was just lying there in the kennel as I walked over to see him, I went in and gave him a massive cuddle!

Poor Tom - he has been stressing quite a bit since arriving but we finally got him to eat yesterday afternoon (hand fed by Laura). He is a sweet boy, cat friendly (lived with 2 cats) and great on the lead. I hope someone can see past his age and give a loving home for his twilight years.....

What a lovely boy Tom is. He was chilling out on a bed in the run when we arrived and seemed totally relaxed. I must be honest, I couldn't believe he was ten. I hope someone sees beyond the number and gives him a lovely home to call his own very soon. Mand xx

As we already have a younger Tom, Tom gets my cuddle today as I think it is so sad when the oldies are returned.

Hi Deb, no Skippy and Tom are in separate homes and both coming back for different reasons - when they both arrive on Saturday I can put more on to explain why on the approval of the families returning them who are all very upset.

Tom was rehomed in September 2006. Sadly he is being returned through no fault of his own and his owners are very upset at having to return him. Being the age he is, we hope to find him a home very soon.
