Daybreaks Diary!

Angie arrives extra early on Friday and Saturday. So when I arrived this morning the inmates were all fed and kennels cleaned! Karla and myself sorted our cats Tyke and Socks, Socks is so funny, she will sit on your lap when sorting the litter trays or once you have lined the tray she will sit in it!! I met our two new arrivals, Hilda calmed down after a while, it’s all very new to her, Cain went out with Liz_Beth and her husband to Brueton Park where he was apparently very well behaved even coming close to little dogs. Many thanks for taking him out today. X

The very handsome Cain came with me and my husband to Brueton Park today. He was very well behaved and did very well for his first outing. He came nose to nose with a couple of small, fluffy dogs and said hello politely. He completely ignored a golden retriever and spaniel who were telling him off just for walking past. He travelled quietly in the car, lying down for most of the journey. He did need a little help getting in, but I'm sure he'll crack that once he's had a few more goes. He's a very friendly boy with gorgeous soft fur. He has four partially white paws and his tail looks like someone has flicked a bit of white paint on him. Here's hoping that he'll be snatched up soon xx

Sid

Day 3 in foster…. Took Sid to Kingsbury Water Pak, today. He was initially nervous around the swans & ducks as they were very loud & boisterous when being fed. Although he was a lot better later on when the ducks were more settled. He observed other dogs from afar but didn't get close( this will be done gradually as time goes on). Sid might our grandson today he spent time being walked by him which went ok. However, he didn't like it when other children were playing football near by. Sid travels very well in the car not a problem at all, also copes bring close to our other dog. Sid has struggled with being separated from us but this was his first time so it will get better.

Sid
I’m Homed
Sid was quite stressed in kennels so was sent out to foster. In his first foster home he very good but was quite clingy. He has now been in foster for a few days with another greyhound (Roman) His foster family have sent this update... Sid had a very good first night he was naturally intrigued by his new surroundings he settled very well. Ate very well & coped with a grumble from Roman very well. He has no problems around food with Roman. Sid coped excellently today in alongside Roman in the car. Took for a long walk but was frightened by the busy road traffic. He loves playing with toys & generally a happy dog. They are going to start leaving him to see how he copes and I will update again in a few days.

Daybreaks Diary!

We were short of a couple of volunteers today, but Karla my Friday student came in today so with her cleaning and me helping between feeding we got the Kennels cleaned fairly quickly. The Wednesday walkers were in this morning so the inmates all had a lovely walk. Thanks also to Erin and Kara for taking care of teeth cleaning and grooming. It was quite sunny and seemed quite warm in the sun. However, this afternoon was grotty and wet, Chris, Karla and a lovely new volunteer Dawn got absolutely soaked. Ruth headed out to do Truf Trufs home check. She will be going home very soon. X Thanks as always for everyone coming in to help today, we really appreciate it.

When Declan and I got Robbie out for a bedtime wee this evenig he came out wearing his checked fleece like a kilt! He did look very cute! He went back in better fitting attire and as usual was very grateful and enthusiastic to receive a couple of biscuits after playing the touch game. He is a very clever boy. 🙂 Xxx
