We are absolutely devastated at the passing of our beautiful boy Shaun. He was our first greyhound and has changed our lives forever.Thank you to Ruth and Andy for coming over and all your support yesterday and to Sara and Jess for holding the fort at the kennels. Thanks Kate for your kind words. Peg and Eoin are missing their big brother, it feels so empty here without him. Thank you everyone for your kind messages. Goodnight Mr Waggy Tail we will love you forever, run free my angel xxxxx

Lola (Lass)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Not a day goes by when I don’t think about my beautiful gentle Lola. My first Greyhound she taught me so much and asked for so little in return. Today would have been her birthday so I will be remembering lots of happy times and remain constantly thankful to have had her in my life. Hope you are having fun up there Lollybobs. XXXX

Happy birthday for yesterday Peggy! Glad your mum remembered just in time before you & Star went off on your special mission in Birmingham City Centre. You seemed to enjoy your day & take the big city in your stride so Star tells me. You even had a pub lunch with my Yorkshire friends. I also loved my day with Uncle Paul & Lena at the Day Care Centre for the mature hounds & snoozed the day away. We was very glad to enjoy your special day with you! Love & licks Rolo, Star, Mike & Emma

So very sad to read this news. What an awful shock too as this was so sudden. Thinking about Shaun’s lovely family and hoping they find enough strength to keep going at this difficult time. Run free Shaun xx xx

Yes I think you are right to keep on walking, it worked for us with our Grey Dexter, who doesn't really like other dogs, we sought the advise of the fantastic Jim Greenwood as advised by Daybreaks, he told us to do the same, he said imagine if you are walking towards somebody and they slow down, you are then thinking why are they doing that, is there a problem?, and it's exactly the same for the dog, they think what's happening, do I need to react. Simple but when you think about it, it makes an awful lot of sense. Xxxx

I am so very sad to hear the news about Shaun and heartbroken For Helen and Andy. I know how much they adored their beautiful lad. I will always remember the day Andy came to the kennels to reserve him. He walked in and said "my wife wants me to reserve Shaun" and when I asked if he wanted to meet any of the other Greyhounds he said "No, she said it's got to be Shaun" I was so happy for him as he was a quiet black lad who had been waiting a while for his forever home. Taken too soon but what a truly happy, wonderful life he has had with them. Thinking of all the family tonight. Lots of love and God Bless lovely Shaun. Kate, Skip, Fletch and Lyra Xxxx

Saddle
I’m Homed
I spent an hour in Elmdon Park with Saddle today. We walked past big and small dogs with no reaction. He had a really good look but didn't lunge or whine to get to them. I really think the key with him is to just walk past briskly and not give him a chance to get over excited about greeting another dog. We also sat for 5 minutes at the end of the walk but he did start getting a bit agitated then with dogs going past. Like I say, I think it is best to keep him moving . He was great once again getting in and out of the car. He's a lovely boy and with continued practice will get used to the big wide world.
