2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well yesterday afternoon we had a visit from Belle who was homed recently... unfortunately in a collapsed state in the back of the car!! She had been for a walk and started panting and become very lethargic. A cold towel was put over her and I took her temperature which was normal and after about half hour she was becoming a little more responsive and even ate some chicken! She was taken to the vets to be checked and we are hopeful she is doing well... I will keep you posted.... Just to allay fears with the advertisements of a post at Daybreaks, it is in addition to myself and Kate 🙂

Well Horsey was doing his Mule impression again this morning! He went out on his walk with Jackie and was fine going but just wouldn't turn round to come back! The walk lasted a lot longer than normal! When they did return Horsey was such a happy chap tail wagging and a smile on his face! He is a super lad and a real character. Xxx

So so sad to hear Dylan has passed over the bridge. I have lost 4 beautiful Greys over the past few years and I take comfort in the knowledge that all of us who gave them their forever homes made sure they left this earth as beloved pets and will always be remembered this way in our hearts. Run free Dylan God bless x

I am lying sleepily in my basket, we got up really early this morning and I thought we were going out for an exciting day. We were in the car for ages but for a lot of it we hardly moved! At last we arrived... at the place with the man in blue (shudder), mom and TC left me there! The man in blue (shudd) took some blood and mom is really pleased as my liver results are high but not very. I must have seen Ray but I don't remember because I was having a lovely cuddle and must have fallen asleep. Ray said Auntie Rightus isn't coming! The man in blue (shud) then looked at my paw with a miccyspoce as mom had said she could see a tiny mark if she used a maggyglass and he could see what she meant so poked around and got something out! Nobody knows what it is but he hopes my limpet will now be solved. I have to see the man in blue (sh) again next week and really I don't mind at all! TC says I am very dear to them, 3 hundreds and a quarter dear. At least I have a nice bandage with piggy's on to show for it! Think I'll zzz just have zzzz a nap nozzzzz, Lubs Florence xxx

Well Since Tony arrived he has learnt a lot. He knows he has to join the breakfast and dinner que which forms at the same time each day, and that he cannot come into the kitchen while I prepare his and Nina's bowls. Lies and watches with anticipation, he knows he will be sent out if he crosses the line. lol Today he has decided to commence a toast que (when I am getting mine) ! I am trying to achieve that pitiful look in my eyes that hounds have whilst negotiating something with my hubby. Not working so far.

I had the very sad news from Nicola to say that poor Dylan fell in the garden and broke his leg and had to be let go. I will miss walking this handsome and sensitive lad on our walks with his Sister Janey. He was such a well behaved boy with so much life left in him! He was taken far too soon and I shall miss him dearly. My thoughts are with Nicola and Barbara and of course his sister Janey. Rest in piece Dilly xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

This morning I took the twins into the run and I have been teaching Saddle the 'wait' command..... he is doing fantastic and it stops his circling. I also took Stella into the run - she is in the isolation kennel away from the Daybreaks greys due to a cough she has. This appears to just happen when she has a lead on or is held by her collar so we have a harness to prevent this. She is immaculately clean every morning and absolutely loves the run. I had feedback from the greyhound board that her previous owner was not able to be contacted..... anyhow - whatever has happened..... she is in safe hands now and we hope she can find a great home soon. She is off to the vets next week for the second part of her vaccination and then her spey is to be arranged. I am attacking the paperwork pile from home today whilst I keep popping the pills and hope to be back to 100% very soon - thanks for all the messages I have been receiving x

This little lass is going to be returned due to problems with the family’s existing dog having problems. I feel desperately sorry for the family as it has been a hard decision to make. We will let you know when she is arriving and hopefully she can find a home as soon as possible. She is good on the lead, good with children and house trained. She is not cat friendly.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was a beautiful day again today. 🙂 Rosie took Nick and Sully off to the vets first thing for their neutering operations. They were both quite wobbly when they returned late this afternoon, but it didn't stop them from enjoying their evening meal. 🙂 I had to help Sully get onto his bed; but he looked quite comfy when I checked on him before going home. Xx As we didn't have enough Volunteers to walk the dogs this this morning, Yvonne and I took them all in the run whilst Clive gave everyone a lovely groom. They all loved the extra attention especially Molly, Saddle and Roy. I'm sure they would have stayed with Clive all day! 🙂 Ashley came in to visit us with Alan and Myra this afternoon. It's great to hear he is doing so well now. :)) We are so grateful to them for all the help, time and patience they are giving to him. x Thanks to Yvonne, Adam, Alan and Myra for taking the lads and lasses for walks this afternoon. :)) Xxx
