2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Ruth and Norman took Saddle, Roy, Susie, Rory, Biza and Nick to Blythe Valley Business Park today for lunchtime walks with some of the employees. I believe it was part of a keep fit at work exercise. It was a warm day so all came back rather hot and tired, including Ruth and Norman! All the dogs seemed to have enjoyed themselves, nice for them to have a change of scene. As there were only a few dogs left to walk back at the kennels they had an extra long walk. Horsey seemed to enjoy the walk as it was a circular route and he didn't have to turn back to return to Daybreaks, bless him! Brilliant news for Tony, now called Finlay. Once again a big thank you to his new family for failing miserably and joining the FFP club! :)) Lucy was back helping at the kennels after being poorly with Pneumonia, it was so good to have her and lovely Ellie back. Had forgotten what a food maniac Ellie is!! :)) Great to see Sara and Louis again today too. Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Xxx

So went to see the man in blue again today (no need to shudder, didn't even tremble in the waiting room!). He says he is pleased I am a lot less limpet and has discharged me back to the care of mom and TC! My walks are getting longer and I no longer have to wear a boot..... Lots of love to Fin and his new family, mom had a soft spot for you and so did auntie Samantha. Lubs to all, Florence xxx

Yep I think it's time to change to reserved. Will be in Friday for Finlay to sign himself out as he has served his parole and he wants to see if you have a leaving present for him. preferably FOOD ! Well if I say Tony is now answering to the name Finlay (Fin) and a new bed has been ordered I think I can safely say we are on the list for a FFP tee shirt. My poor husband was just used to getting up at 8am (as Nina our other hound likes a lie in) and Fin the food monster comes into our lives and decides around 6am is a good time to start the day, Never had a Grey who is so fixated with food and I think I will have to ask Ruth for food stamps LOL At the moment his day is still spent looking for food finding food and eating food interspersed with destroying 6 squeaky toys (his second love). What can I say we fall for it every time, cause I am sure at some point we will become his first love, and it doesn't really matter because he has stolen our hearts.

Daddy missed his baby so much and it was only for 1 night. That was the 1st time with out him. Don’t know what I am going to do when I am away for 2 weeks in July. Barney is my pride and joy and we have a lovely bond between us.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had lots of lovely helpers today :)) Thanks everyone. Ruth and Shirley took for his neutering operation and Stella for her vaccination booster first thing this morning. Stella is a really lovely girl. 🙂 Brandy was very lively on his return to the kennels and really enjoyed his dinner! :)) New girls Biza and Sky are very pretty, they are both getting used to their new surroundings. They were a little nervous of the heavy traffic on the Coventry Road when they went out for walks. Lorna bathed a beautiful Golden Retriever this afternoon, very hairy compared to her usual Greyhound clients! :)) Many thanks to the visitors who came along to the kennels with donations of bedding today, very kind of you. x Xxx

I have just picked up Brandy from the vets following his castrate. Sadly he had to have three teeth out however he has come back to the kennels and woofed his dinner down!!! I also took Stella to the vets this morning for her vaccination and also to check she is fit enough for her spey on Friday.... which she is and she just loved travelling in the van and couldn't wait to jump in! She is a sweet thing x

Well I have been very quiet today. I’ve just been sad and thinking about my daddy. He’s gone away for a night. It’s not the same without him. At least I have my mummy and my sister! Talking about my sister she said her exams are going well so far and she hopes it continues. Hope this night goes quick. Barney Xx 🙁

Message from Tim - Gemma's human "Gemma is well on the mend following her recent op. Starting to get her bounce back. At moment looks like she is in a wet t-shirt competition. Also wrecked one of Sue's nighties - on well she is worth it. She and Stanley have been practising on the ramp for the car which Dad finally bought. Gemma doing great on it, Stan slowly but surely. Love to all greys and humans. xx"
