2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had lots of lovely helpers today :)) Thanks everyone. Ruth and Shirley took for his neutering operation and Stella for her vaccination booster first thing this morning. Stella is a really lovely girl. 🙂 Brandy was very lively on his return to the kennels and really enjoyed his dinner! :)) New girls Biza and Sky are very pretty, they are both getting used to their new surroundings. They were a little nervous of the heavy traffic on the Coventry Road when they went out for walks. Lorna bathed a beautiful Golden Retriever this afternoon, very hairy compared to her usual Greyhound clients! :)) Many thanks to the visitors who came along to the kennels with donations of bedding today, very kind of you. x Xxx

I have just picked up Brandy from the vets following his castrate. Sadly he had to have three teeth out however he has come back to the kennels and woofed his dinner down!!! I also took Stella to the vets this morning for her vaccination and also to check she is fit enough for her spey on Friday.... which she is and she just loved travelling in the van and couldn't wait to jump in! She is a sweet thing x

Well I have been very quiet today. I’ve just been sad and thinking about my daddy. He’s gone away for a night. It’s not the same without him. At least I have my mummy and my sister! Talking about my sister she said her exams are going well so far and she hopes it continues. Hope this night goes quick. Barney Xx 🙁

Message from Tim - Gemma's human "Gemma is well on the mend following her recent op. Starting to get her bounce back. At moment looks like she is in a wet t-shirt competition. Also wrecked one of Sue's nighties - on well she is worth it. She and Stanley have been practising on the ramp for the car which Dad finally bought. Gemma doing great on it, Stan slowly but surely. Love to all greys and humans. xx"

Well We went on a 30 minute journey today all the way to have a barbecue. At least I got sausage it was fun. So much fuss and love off everyone. There was a nice park near by where we all had a walk. My family said my confidence has gone up massively! Barney Xx

Saddle

Saddle came with me to the park for an hour today and I think there was an improvement since last week. He is still very stimulated when he sees other dogs running around but he managed to walk past five small dogs (who were stationary or walking calmly themselves) without reacting. He had a good look but didn't pull or lunge. He seems to cope better when you walk past briskly. Lots of people were interested in him and stopped me to ask about him . When we did stop, Saddle didn't really seem to know how to greet other dogs and can come across as a bit boisterous. However after that initial reaction, he doesn't pay the dog much attention. I think with time and patience he will cope more and more with the excitement of the big wide world. He also met lots of children today and was happy to receive fuss and attention.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Oh WOW!!!!! What a Day! I started at 7am to get the inmates out for a early morning toilet session... it stops the twins - Roy and Saddle toileting and then dancing in it! They had a great time in the sand run - such a joy to see them play and run so happily.... I absolutely adore 'my boys'..... Winnie and Annie went off to their new homes and with the canine massage team teaching in the sand run this meant all the the kennel dogs alternated with both a massage session or a walk. Elizabeth kindly took Saddle to the park for some training whilst Roy had a massage - he loved it! It was a busy day with lots of nail trimming and a few corn removals and then we had the arrival of Sky and Biza - OMG - beautiful girls..... My Foxy boy also had a session with the canine massage team and he is currently crashed out in the office bless him!!!! I think my stack of paperwork to attack is going to remain on the floor until tomorrow...... I have had an absolutely fantastic day - when the kennels are so busy it is a wonderful feeling. Massive thanks to all the volunteers and our supporters.... you are all wonderful xxx

This little cutie is just adorable, was at the kennels when she arrived, what a beautiful gentle little baby. She has my cuddle today as she looked nervous when she arrived. Little does she know she is halfway to her beautiful forever home xxx
