Goodness, it almost felt like Spring this morning as I headed to the kennels - mild, daylight and no wind blowing - more of the same please!!! It was Gold Stars all round in the clean kennel awards today, well done boys & girls, makes my life nice & easy! It is good to see Rocky much improved now following his spell of being under the weather, he is back polishing off his food and has enjoyed trip to the park. He led the "howling chorus" this morning, standing very majestically with his head back howling at the moon (well, the sun actually) being joined by the other residents - it's such a plaintive sound, although gets a bit out of hand when you've got 7 dogs doing it!!! It's a busy diary again for the weekend, so keep fingers crossed for some red or green signs by Monday. Stay safe and well everyone. Angie xx

Thanks to Ruth for dealing with Asbo Arrys corns today. No problem with digging around with the scalpel, he was actually dropping off to sleep, different matter with the foot file, much gentler than the digging around but was not too keen on that part. Daft dog, as they say, 'don't figure'. Won't mention he pooed in the car on the way to Kennels, in the car park and outside the office, all in about half an hour!! Doesn't do that much in a day normally. He is booked in for his Valentine's pamper with Laura next Wednesday, he did love to have a bath. At 12 years young I thought he would enjoy it.

Yay - the gorgeous Herbie is now weighing in at 30.7kg..... he is doing the opposite to Slimming World and has gained 4kg now. He is looking less bony and he is sooooo lovely x

I remember this day...! Having 2 other greys dropped off and little pretty Peanut was out for the ride too!! Wasn't long for her stop was with Jo... 🙂 Bless ya princess!

Can't believe it's been 1 year today that Peanut was dropped off by her trainer for me to take on trial. What a difference a year makes!! Can be such a good girl and a little monster at the same time! Her official gotcha day is in March so official celebrations dinner will be then!! Happy coming home day Ickle Pickle Princess Peanut paws. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Yesterday, there were just 2 appointments in the diary so after cleaning out, with Denise feeding, I thought I would have a great day spending time with the current inmates...... ha ha not a chance! The phone did not stop and as fast as I finished a call, another one came through. Inbetween, we had the arrival of Ginger, homed from a GT branch that wasn't able to take her due to space and communication breakdown so we agreed to help. The owner was very upset but an increase in working commitments had forced the decision. Ginger was bathed by Laura and had great fun in the sand run and then came home with me as she was too distressed to stay in a kennel. She is going out to foster on Saturday and if all goes well, she has bagged herself a new home. Herbie, Tig, Momma and Tony also came to the kennels with me and today, whilst I sit doing my laptop work, they are absolutely crashed out! Thanks to our Wednesday morning walking crew and Chris who was a godsend in helping me during the afternoon to feed and tuck the inmates up for the night. It was a very productive day!
