Our lovely Rocky wasn't himself today. He didn't eat his breakfast, which is unheard of and he didn't really enjoy his morning walk. He had his temperature taken which thankfully was normal. He did eat his lunch and then spent the afternoon in the office, snuggled under the desk on a comfy bed. He has a Birthday card to open but we will wait until he feels better. Lots of love to our big lad Rocky. Xxx

Our latest new arrival is Stacy. Xxx A very pretty little girl. She was such a good girl while Shirley, Mary and Skye gave ger a bath. She has had a long racing career and now it's time she took a well earned rest and put her paws up on a nice comfy sofa. :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Monday was a busy day at the kennels and whilst Kate and the crew of volunteers were sorting our inmates, I was in the office with Jude and spent all day attacking the stack of paperwork! The amount of invoices that come in on a daily basis is staggering, but I am so grateful to all of our supporters who donate which makes the continuation of Daybreaks Trust possible. Herbie spent the day in the office too - he is starting to put on weight and was so much more alert and wagging his tail to all that said hello to him! His anaemia is resolved and now is on medication for a low B12 and folate. Yesterday I worked from home but went over to Fivelands Vets to collect little Truf Truf (TT) following her spey. Unfortunately TT has to have a bath every morning due to the mess in her kennel (you really don't want to know the full details!) so I was almost dreading taking her home last night..... however, she has been little Miss Perfect Pants and despite being very grumpy last night (totally understandable after an operation) this morning she is very bright, has eaten and is now crashed out with Roman who I am looking after for his owners whilst they are attending a funeral, Herbie and Tig, Momma and Tony. A photo has been posted on our Daybreaks Trust Chat Group of the sleeping beauties!

Robbie has been with me for 3 weeks now and I am amazed at how well he has settled in. He haas had no toileting issues, and loves nothing more than curling up on HIS chair. I absolutely adore him. I am working on his tendency to jump like a loon if we get to close to another dog.

Daybreaks Diary!

Everyone said it felt warmer today, sadly I didn't agree!! As always Denise opened up and started feeding and cleaning. Thanks to our lovely volunteers all the dogs that could go on a walk did this morning. This afternoon it was sand run fun. Cora came back with her lovely dad today to see if she could find a playmate, so happy to say that Amelia was chosen and was reserved and has gone out on trial. Hoping that everything goes well. All the inmates enjoyed their grooming, not everyone was as happy with the teeth cleaning!! We had a lovely Iceland delivery from Phil the Growler and Sylvia, something for the growlers, the moms and dads and some items for the cleaning of the Kennels, thanks so very much for their very kind donation. We also had a donation of items from Pets at Home, many thanks to Julie Beasley and Adrian for bringing that in and to Steve for helping bring it into the Kennels.

I have been gathering photos and videos of River for his video but I need more. Do any of you wonderful people have any recommendations (locally) where I can take River for good secenery and possibly use my drone? Has to be well away from Birmingham Airport. I'm open for options that I can review before Tuesday.
