Grace (Diva)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
So today was Diva's big day out. I took her over to Elmdon Park for a treat and I can say that we both really enjoyed it. We stopped and chatted to other people and their dogs - Diva particularly liked a lurcher who we found down by the lake. The lake absolutely fascinated Diva and she was bemused by the floating bundles of feathers that make a strange quacking sound. So many sights, smells and sounds to take in. Given the chance off lead, Diva would play with every dog in the park but took a dislike to two little yappy things that made a nuisance of themselves. She does need to learn a few manners though but that will soon come when she has had a bit more experience making canine friends. She did get a lot of attention from passers by and one chap wanted to take her home! So back to the car - she got in and out without any direction and enjoyed sticking her head out of the window all the way back to HQ. Diva needs a little coaching on greeting other dogs but is certainly a hound that enjoys her walks. She enjoyed a couple ofsecret treats too!

We started to put Classic FM on low on on our TV when we first had Reg and did the same for Ollie. I'm nor sure if it helps them settle but it's just part of our routine.

It is very sad for me to say but we had to bring Sue who we called Bella back to kennels. No fault of hers more to do with the pecking order with our 2 greyhounds. Although the one we thought would be more difficult Kin liked her the most (some of you know Kin already) This little girl is such an affectionate, clever, playful little dog. She followed me like my second shadow and would curl up with me and watch TV and then fall asleep. I can honestly say I am heartbroken to bring her back as I loved her to bits. Sue (Bella) wish list for a new family would be: Another dog for company. Some nice walks as she is great on the lead although cats are exciting for her lol. Comfy bed. Good food, she loves her food. Lots of cuddles and maybe, just a big maybe you might let her snuggle up with you on the sofa. BUT most of all a wonderful family. It is a great shame it just couldn't be us this time. Love you baby girl xx

Well its been nearly a week and both Zennor and Mac have really learnt their new routines. Apart from the initial excitement they have when you reappear (whether that's just coming downstairs first thing in the morning or if you have gone into a different room for 30 seconds!) they are wonderful and I don't know how we managed for so long after we lost our last Greyhound. Mac is still a bit nervous of people (mainly men on the TV who he barks at and runs away) but he is getting there slowly. Thank you Kate for sorting us out with two fabulous dogs!

When we first had Alfie he suffered from separation anxiety, especially at 3.00 am in the morning! We then started to leave the radio on low for him, with that and a little patience he is now fine. I hope Fudge is settling in, he is lovely.

It gets better every day. We will have had Ollie two weeks this Sunday and night times have been the most difficult, even though we have a second grey, Reggie. Last few nights, he has slept soundly downstairs with Reggie but we are still getting up between 5-6 am to let him out for a wee. Fudge is beautiful X X
