We lost our lovely Ciara to cancer on Friday, after a thankfully short illness. We had hoped for many more years together but it was not to be. Gone but never forgotten.

We have had our wonderful Monty (Khani) over 6 months now and he is such a superstar. Seeing him bounding like a gazelle through the long grass on our walks... and lying in the sunniest spot on a duvet makes me feel so happy : ) He is such a source of joy in our lives. Thank you Ruth and Kate xxx from Sarah, Leon & Olivia xxx

Lovely to see you today Max (although I wish you'd been on a GBG Walk with a new family somewhere). You're so like my Benny I even called you Ben!! We had some beautiful cuddles in your kennel before your walk. Sorry that Andy ignored the text to come and see you when you could hear him talking. You were so good for him on your walk together afterwards. As far as I could see, you were impeccable. I hope your home is on it's way as you need your own space and family to settle down properly. You really are gorgeous. Another cuddle for you Maxie boy X J

  • Harry

    I’m Homed

Harry was a very happy, waggy boy when I went to put his lead on for his walk this morning. He stood patiently and let me put his lead on and then we went off on our walk. I'm not sure he was overly happy with the volume of noise of the traffic on the Coventry Road this morning and he seemed to get a bit anxious at times, but in the main, he walked along well enough. I hope he will soon settle down as he is a lovely boy. Sympathies to his previous owner x J

I'm sure all of us here have a lot of sympathy for the situation, returning a much loved pet must be the hardest thing to do but none of us know what the future holds for us and returning Harry to Daybreaks will be the best for him in the circumstances. I pray that I never have to make that decision. Best wishes to all concerned.xx

I have added a couple of photos of Dutchy in her new home that were taken yesterday. I still love the fabulous photo of her playing in the run but seeing her in a new home playing with her new friend is unbeatable! xxxx

    I’m Homed

Thank you so much jax for your comments. I was so sorry to have to ask you but I hope this has helped explain the situation more with Harry for those following him. It is an extremely sad situation, and those who have been faced with having to return a dog due to circumstances beyond their control will know how difficult and emotional it is. We are always here to support those who return a dog for genuine reasons and give as much information as possible about the returnee to help them find the right home. Harry is learning to cope much better with all the new people he meets at the kennels and I know the right home is out there for him, however long it takes. Until then, we have the pleasure of being there for him.

Hello everyone, I have had a great day. Mom & Dad took me to Daybreaks new run, my friend Dolly came with her mom and boys and it was great fun running and playing with the toys . Not so keen on the bus journey though but we was good girls and behaved ourselves. We got home just in time for our sarnies and a treat or 2 before Dolly went home. Then it was a long snooze for me. Mom said we can go again as we was so good there. love Tess xxx

  • Harry

    I’m Homed

Hi again. Just to reassure all involved in Harry's care. We did bring him back on one occasion during the early days due to Harry's anxiety issues. His past has caused damage to his faith in human kind unfortunately. However once we realised how much we loved him we were fully committed to going some way to putting some of that faith back. I think we achieved this and from what was an extremely anxious dog Harry became a fun loving and characterful dog with his human keepers. I am not saying we righted all the wrongs done to him but we gained his trust and his affection 10 fold. Again I cannot even tell people how devastating giving him up has been and if there was a way I could take care of him i would be there at the crack of dawn tommorow to collect him and bring him home.

  • Charlie (aka Billy Bob)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

This boy is simply adorable and so laid back. At Lyndon Church Summer Extravaganza he took everything in his stride. He had some lovely cuddles with both adults and little children.....he didn't mind as long as they fussed him! He jumped straight in the van and travelled the short distance to and from the kennels so well with his friend Spritz. I can't help thinking he will make someone a fantastic pet and he's not one of the enormous boys either, so come on folks.....come and take a look at this handsome lad! Billy Bob.... I had to use the 'ladies first' rule so Spritz had my cuddle today....I promise you'll have it tomorrow xx
