I asked Jude our lovely volunteer on a Monday to cover the calls and paperwork whilst myself, Kate, Jo, Denise, Angie and Rosie had our virtual training session with Petplan. We are now all up to speed with the latest insurance guidelines and also positive changes in the Petplan cover. Following this, we had a viewing for the very pretty and unusual Tilly and then Kate and I went out to do the home visit. Not only is Tillys new owner just wonderful (we did ask if she would consider adopting us too!), but Tilly is going to be in absolute heaven with exploring the beautiful garden. Parking was fun as they were doing filming at the house opposite but the security guard helped us out and we got into conversation about greyhounds etc etc… let’s just say Kate and I finally got back to the kennels around 5pm where Jo and Mollie had fed and cleaned down. Mollie and I then had a sad trip to Fivelands as one of our resident chickens, Sage, was helped to fly to feather heaven. Thank you to our regular Monday volunteers and congratulations to Louisa who collected her raffle prize - the chocolate hamper and a page in next year’s calendar! As she doesn’t currently have her own greyhound she will have her work cut out trying to decide on a current inmate perhaps to be photographed. X

I went for a walk today with Robin and my other two dogs and also my friend lou came with her 2 dogs one who is only 3 months old Robin was amazing she didn't bother with them even when the pup was in her face she just looked the other way, so altogether there were 5 dogs and she just walked as well as she does no pulling no nothing just getting on with her walk, love her so much

What fantastic news! :)) It was brilliant to see so many people and their beautiful Greyhounds at the Birthday Party today. Xxx I was helping with the sausage bobbing....many of the dogs were not interested in getting water up their noses, but we did have a champion! Little Rosie who was homed earlier this year didn't care at all about the water...the sausages disappeared in seconds! :))) Well done. Xxx

Wow what a fabulous amount! Well done all! Me and my 2 legged girls were all set to come and then ended up with vertigo in bed so couldn't drive, but gutted as I had promised mia she could come and see all the dogs so she was disappointed...I think you're just going to have to hold another one soon so we can come along lol xxx

Wow! What an amazing amount raised. I knew from the number of people who visited that it would be a good sum but I wouldn't have guessed it would be nearly £2000. That's amazing. The generosity of the Daybreaks family is incredible. Even the shower at lunchtime didn't spoil the proceedings.

A huge thankyou to everyone who came along today to our 16th Birthday Bash, it was amazingly busy and it was great to see so many old friends, both 2 & 4 legs. Thanks to our stall holders for being there and for your kind donations, and a special thanks to Vet Lorna - fortuitous she was there as there was a tail injury to deal with! We raised the amazing sum of £1301.62 on site today, and adding this to the raffle ticket sales over the past weeks and donations from folk unable to come along today, our birthday celebrations have raised the awesome amount of £1888.62 - thank you just doesn't seem enough. We are so grateful for your support - it means we can continue looking after the beautiful Greys in our care and find them the loving homes they deserve. Angie xx
