The Moose continues to bring us so much joy and pleasure as she discovers her new world. This morning was a huge change in routine as she accompanied us to open the kennels. She sat patiently in the kitchen run whilst we worked, and was so happy when we finally put on her lead and told her it was time to go home. She had a mad 5 minutes zoomies around the garden this afternoon whilst we did a bit of tidying, and is currently spark out on her bed snoozing away after a day of different experiences. She is doing so, so,well - an absolute treasure. X

I've done it again, for some reason I keep thinking Floyd's birthday is 4th June, it's not it's 2nd June. So, fish fingers for dinner tonight and a lovely New collar to try and make up for being a day late (again)!!! I'm sure he will forgive me especially as he had a day at the Kennels with Peanut. X

Daybreaks Diary!

Happy Jubilee Bank Holiday everyone - and what a busy old day it was too!!! Our crew of walking wounded outnumbered the "fit" doggies, so only 4 could actually go out on a walk! We did enjoy the lovely sunshine on both walks, and it was actually quite warm by the afternoon. The morning saw Chloe reserved - well done pretty girl. Then it was Sammy's turn to be viewed and reserved - yay! And Buddy had a visit from his new owner who is so excited to take him home next weekend. Well the weekend is here again, whatever you are doing over this special celebration weekend enjoy and as ever stay safe. I am in need of a very large glass of wine later after such a busy day, and I will raise it to toast all our boys & girls and wish for forever homes. On a personal note - our little Miss Minnie is settling in really well and we are so enjoying having a hound in our lives again after such a long time. Thanks for everyone's best wishes.xx Cheers! We have teamed up with BuddyCare - who deliver services FREE via a platform called SmartVet, led by Lead Veterinary Nurse, Fiona Eldridge. To give you some background on Fiona, she has been a vet nurse for 23 years, working in practices all over the UK before switching to telemedicine. Ryan from BuddyCare told me: My belief is that Fiona can chat to your patrons about dental health, nutrition, skin issues, behaviour, exercise and weight management. Last week was greyt, me and the hoomans loved the afternoon tea and entertainment. Me especially loved the lovely brown bag full of goodies!!! I wanted the whole bag but the hoomans made me save some for later… Of course I offered to help share their tea too but that didn’t work. Apparently we have a long weekend for this jubilee thing. This queen, who ever she is, gets so much treatment and celebration I’d like the same. I’ve heard she has two birthdays! I have one coming up this month but I feel a second one should happen after that! If the queen can have two why can’t I? Lubs Monty xx

Norman took Cristina for her first trip to the park on Tuesday. She was very good in the car. When she arrived at the park she was very excited with all the new sights and sounds. She became more relaxed after she had been there a while and had a great time. :)) Thanks so much to Norman for giving her a break from the kennels for an hour or so. 🙂 Xxx

Thank you so much to everyone who supported and sponsored me for my 100 mile bike ride for Daybreaks. Every mile I completed was equivalent to 32 homes found for greyhounds since Daybreaks opened in July 2006. With my Facebook birthday fundraiser, sponsorship via the kennels, a very generous donation from ARC and the JustGiving page I have so far raised £1.516.
