Dougie

Ruth took Dougie for a check up at the vets this afternoon. His front paw is doing ok but the vet is concerned about his back paw as it's not healing as well as it should be. :(( He doesn't have a dressing on the front one but is quite keen on licking it! He has gone to bed wearing a sock and has unfortunately had to have his muzzle on. Such a shame, what he really needs to help him recover is a forever home! Lots of love to Dougie. Xxx

It was Sammy's turn to be neutered today. He was very sleepy when he got back to the kennels this afternoon. Xxx He did manage to eat his dinner and then we tucked him up in bed. He is such a sweet lad. All the dogs have got fleeces on tonight...have just checked the cameras and they all look comfortable, relaxed and warm. :))

Buddy

Our very handsome Buddy went off to the vets to be neutered this morning. Thanks so much to Sue for taking him for us. Xxx I picked him up this afternoon. He was such a good boy at the vets and on the journey back to the kennels. He enjoyed his dinner on his return, you wouldn't think he had just had an operation! :)) Xxx Buddy is a super lad, hoping his forever home will soon be his. Xxx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
I heard from Jonti's family today with the very sad news to say they have had to let their wonderful lad go to Rainbow Bridge. Xxx He was one of our long stayers and one of my all time favourite Daybreaks residents. 🙂 For the last nine years he has had a truly fantastic, long and happy life. His family are devastated to have lost him. Xxx Thinking of them all and sending lots of love. God Bless your special boy. Kate Xxx

The Minnie Moose is home! We have had a lovely day - she has been for a walk round the lakes, discovered apple is tasty after all, had a quick play with a squeaky toy, and is now spark out on her bed. Thanks everyone for your very kind wishes - Minnie had been in kennels for 3 months & we had been houndless for many years, but the time was never right until now - think we were made for each other!! xx

Joe, now called Bertie, is settling in well with us in Herefordshire. He is such a foodie. Thanks to Cath for preparing him for us. He's a fairly bright dog so I'm hoping he'll pick up our routines pretty quickly.......

So very happy for Minnie, Angie and Mike, beautiful homing photo. Wishing you all very Happy times together. Myself and the furry four are over the moon for you all. I had a very soft spot for Minnie as she is my Coopers full litter sister and despite their trainer trying to convince me to have her it was not meant to be, I ended up with Peanut another one of his dogs. I am so pleased Minnie has found her best forever home. Xxx

Hi All Just to say Daisy will be 9 on Wednesday, OMG where has the time gone. She is now keeping an on eye on Stanley who has been confirmed as an old man, poor thing. They will both get cake on Wednesday even off someone's plate if necessary!!! Love to all greys and humans. Enjoy the long weekend. Love Spanner, Tim & Sue, Daisy & Stanley. xxx

To Al Humans and Greys. To confirm Stanley is an old man, Tim took me to vets for check-up. Lost a bit more weight although eating well, vet confirmed well looked after. Still giving cuddles. Love Spanner xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Last weekend I visited our good friends Sylvia, Phil and their gorgeous Greyhounds Ella and Rio. Xxx Every few months they donate lots of food and treats for our Greyhounds waiting for their forever homes and also treats for us! They also give us lots of items we use everyday at the kennels for cleaning etc. We are so grateful to them for their kindness and generosity. Xxx Best of all Phil cooks a wonderful breakfast for every current resident, including sausage, hash browns, scrambled egg, ham, black pudding and a couple of gravy bones! :)) They love them. :)) Xxx Thank you to everyone who supports Daybreaks in so many different ways. Xxx
