Kate, I have been struggling to find the words to express my heartfelt condolences to you, John, Lyra and Cracker. You gave Skip the most wonderful home, he loved everyone he met and they in turn loved him. He is now running fast and free with Twiggy and Bob. He will have everending egg and milk with Bob!! He was such a lovely boy and such a wonderful character. Now running fast and free, another beautiful angel called to the bridge. Much love to you, John, Lyra and Cracker. In my thoughts, xxxx

oh Kate we,re so so to hear that you have lost your lovely boy Skip- my Sarah has so many lovely memories of him being at the kennels and he had a wonderful life with you he is now running free with all our other angel dogs and he has Bob and Sara P up there with him keeping him company all our love to you Fiona,Rob and Little Sarah xxxx

Oh Kate I am so very sorry to hear this. Skip was such a lovely hairy lad and so patient with all the dogs at the kennels. Sending you, John, Lyra and Cracker huge hugs from me and Tom. I vote it egg custard day tomorrow for Skip.

Skipper (Sourhill Sailor) 09 April 2011 - 13 June 2024 We lost our beloved Skip today. We are absolutely heartbroken. Xxx He has been poorly for the last couple of weeks and we knew his time with us was coming to an end, however we were not prepared for a sudden down turn in his condition today and he passed away in my arms this morning. :(( We have been so lucky to have Skip with us for just over ten years and he celebrated his 13th Birthday in April. Xxx Skip accompanied me to the kennels all the time, he was my constant companion and best friend. He never complained when we were late going home, or when asked to share his space with several other dogs, he got on with everyone. He was my supervisor. :)) At home he was a quiet, unassuming lad who loved sleeping, Egg Custards and Yoghurt! :). He was one of Bob's ex-racers, never the most energetic lad despite Bob frequently telling his friends, Skip was a "fast dog"!! As Skip got older, he also became more hairy! Indeed he was the hairiest Greyhound I have ever met...I was asked several times if he was a Labrador!! 🙂 Thank you Skip for being such a wonderful member of our family for the last ten years. For putting up with Twiggy bossing you around and in later years, Lyra constantly walking over you and treading on you! We will all miss you and love you forever. Xxx Run free with Bob or maybe have a gentle stroll with Nanny, you were always her favourite, she called you "a good pensioners dog" Xxx God Bless you my sweetheart. Xxx xxx

I really do hope that someone homes her soon. She is the most beautiful, loving and funny dog. She deserves a good home with people that have experience of homing greyhounds as she will give so much love and bring so much joy to her owner.

I was so sad to hear about poor Ellie, So sorry for you Lucy, We all know how it hurts. One of my favorites and I was so pleased when she came to live with you so I could still see her at Daybreaks. So many memories of her food stealing stealth. Earning the name Ellie the foodie, nothing was safe in the kitchen. I remember the day she nearly stole the doughnuts while we were all talking. She weaved her way between us all and only when I noticed the tray slowly move we knew what she was up to. Run free now Ellie with all our past friends and don't steal Bob's sandwiches. xxx

Dear Lucy, I am so very sad your lovely Ellie has gone to Rainbow Bridge. Xxx She was indeed a super girl....always kept us on our toes at the kennels, she could sniff out food and treats from wherever we hid them! Most memorable was the Victoria Sponge cake you had baked and brought in for someone's Birthday. It was there before we went for a walk, but mysteriously most of it had been eaten when we returned! Ellie did her best to look innocent. 🙂 She was a happy little soul and I know how much you loved her. I'm sure you are right, she snd Bob are sitting together, sharing a biscuit. With the greatest sadness I had to say goodbye to my special girl on the 2nd of June. It still doesn't feel real, she's left such a huge hole in our family and hearts and we keep expecting to hear her running down the stairs after us, or the jangling of her collar as she ran in from the back garden for her breakfast or dinner. It happened very suddenly and although she was 12 years old, finding out she had aggressive tumors on both her heart and lungs was a huge shock as she had been so happy and still her bouncy self even the last time she accompanied me to the kennels the week before. Honestly, however long we had her would have never been even close to being enough time, but I am eternally grateful she chose us and we shared 7 years of love, my little shadow. I'm sure she has met with all her doggy and human pals who have sadly left us and causing chaos by stealing whatever food she can get a hold of. I like to think Bob is sharing his biscuit with her as he always used to whenever he spent the afternoon sat in the kitchen with all the pet dogs. I love you so much Ellie, rest easy my beautiful girl xxxxxx

Bless little Phoebe - she recognised her trainer when he came to Daybreaks today to drop off one of her litter - Star. I am sure she knew when she put her nose through the bars and sniffed him.....

Star arrived today and he is so very handsome! His trainer tells us he wouldn't chase and would prefer to sofa surf! He met his mum through the bars - Phoebe and only they know if they knew the bond! He is good with other greyhounds and has a lovely gentle temperament.
