Hi Kayla, we have had some separation issues with Champ, Nina's kennel mate for a while. I spoke with Kate and Jill who had some really great advice. Our thundershirt arrived today but while we were waiting Jill suggested we use an old tshirt knotted on his back. Have to say I think it has helped as he is more settled than just a few days ago. They have such a lot of new stuff to deal with so it is taking time and patience but talking to Jill and Kate and hearing other people's experiences has helped me to stop worrying so much and I think that helps him. Champ sends her cuddles and kisses xx

    I’m Homed

if there was a competition for a greyhounds waggiest tail, my Mazey would win hands down. Does anyone have any ideas on how to de-sensitize Mazey with cats, we go for a walk at 5.30 am and unfortunately all the cats in Sheldon seem to be out and about and Mazey does not like them one bit, luckily I am aware and have a good hold on the lead otherwise she would be off and she barks like crazy at them ???

Hi Kayla, Our Breeze isnt good with being on her own (she was Racey Rita in her past life Ninas 1/2 sister, they do seem to be very alike not just to look at) We havnt tried a thunder shirt ourselves but have heard great things about them. Before we had two- guess how we solved Archive being lonely!!! I got loads of cushions and made fleece covers and he snuggled in them also plenty of Blankets helped him to feel safer. But the best thing we did was bring Breeze into the house, she had lived on her own and wasnt happy but as part of a pair she is getting braver all the time. Just remember she is learning lots of new things, some may take longer than others. Xxx

Hi all, just an update on tom. Its been just over four weeks and the difference in him since week one is amazing! He seems very settled and I think he is happy. Its lovely to see him have fun and explore the garden, when we first used to let him out he wouldn't leave our side. He is so laid back and gentle and we really enjoy having him around.

I met Merlin and Sam the other week and was smitten. They are gorgeous and if we didn't already have our beautiful Meg (formerly Vinnie's Gift) we would have adopted them straight away. I hope they find a home soon. xxx

Hi Kayla, what we did to over come separation anxiety was to initially to complete varying times of short returns throughout the day anything from 15mins to 1hr which we completed on weekends. When we then went to work we would then walk him on a long walk and would then feed him just before we left, he then was so tired he just wanted to sleep in his basket and this seemed to do the trick.
