As Angie said it was a crazy day. The gentleman who reserved Timmy went home and had a good think and decided that he would also like to reserve Timmy's litter sister Beeswing! He has been unsettled at the Kennels so hopefully with having his sister with him he will be settled in the home. What can I say, Mr Mikey is a very lucky boy, he worked his magic today. The lovely couple went home to have a serious talk, they are experienced greyhound owners and have homed from us previously, it didn't take long for them to call and reserve this lovely boy. Mikey just couldn't help giving the gentleman lots of kisses. There will be many a tear shed when he goes home, tears of joy for him. Many thanks to Angie and Chris for closing the Kennels up so Dave and I could leave a bit earlier to collect Chase from the vets after his neutering, he was very bright when we collected him, he is currently staying with Dave and Maisie Moo. If you would like to view him please contact the Kennels and we can arrange for him to be available to see. Take care everyone, after the crazy, exciting day today I feel it's wine time!!!

What a day!!!! It was Chase's turn for neutering today - and when Jo got back from dropping him at Fivelands - it just went crazy!! There were 2 viewings in the diary - both of which resulted in fabulous red signs. Our lovely Mikey was the first lucky boy to have a reserved sign go up outside his kennel, closely followed by brother and sister Timmy and Beeswing, who are off to a forever home together - yay! The sand run was busy as ever, Lorna had pampers and we had some kind donations dropped off, so Daybreaks was a real hive of activity! It has gone quiet now, the boys & girls are tucked up snuggly in bed and home time is approaching. We have had a delivery of Blizzard coats and fleeces, there's plenty in stock now to keep your Greys warm and toasty in this horrid cold weather. Roll on Spring I say! Well another weekend is here, I really cant believe how fast the days are flying by. I shall be breaking out the Prosecco later I think, to celebrate a fabulous day at Daybreaks. Whatever you are up to this weekend, stay safe & warm. Cheers! Angie xx

A big cuddle for Timmy tonight. He had his neutering operation today. He only had one testicle visible which meant he had to be opened up to look for the other one. It was found in his abdomen. All went well. Xxx Thanks so much to Richard for picking him up this afternoon. He was very bright and ate all his dinner on his return. Bless him, such a lovely lad. Xxx

Another fairly quiet day for visitors but not for the phone!! Thanks to everyone for their help, the dogs all had morning walks and sand run fun this afternoon. We had donations of bedding and food which is very much appreciated. The sand run was a little quieter today but we did have a few bookings. It started to get quite chilly this afternoon, so the residents are all tucked up with their under bed heating and radiators on.

Thanks so much to Norman for taking Timmy to the park today. He has been quite unsettled since his arrival and it was good for him to have a break from the kennels. He is a lovely lad who has lots to learn about the big wide world. :)) Xxx

Happy 8th birthday to our gorgeous Skippy Doo-Dah. You and you brother Sam and sister Nadie have been spoilt with mackerel in tomato sauce for breakfast and a long munch on your ostrich bones this afternoon. With lamb for tea. You all had walks. Seem to be tired now. Love you so much with your funny ways - your grumpiness if your feet are touched but your amazing flappertypuffing and mad zoomies. Daddy's looking down on you and is celebrating your birthday with Bert at Rainbow Bridge. x

    I’m Homed

Timmy arrived at Daybreaks on Friday and today paid his first visit to Brueton Park. He is only 22 months old and never raced. Consequently he is even more unaware of life outside of kennels than greyhounds who raced regularly and probably experienced large groups of people at the tracks. This may help to explain why he can find new situations quite daunting and make him feel rather unsure of himself. Considering all these things he actually did very well while in the park today. As he grew in confidence he was keen to meet people and children, showed no negatives in meeting other breeds and although on the lead he can follow an erratic course (he does love to sniff bushes and trees !!)he will eventually become more accustomed to the lead. A very loving boy who will enjoy a home with lots of love and affection and perhaps not too much unexpected noise or disturbances.
