As Jo said, Mikey came out with me for a couple of hours today. As always, he was perfect. He travelled well in the car and walked beautifully. We saw lots of dogs in Brueton Park and he behaved impeccably. He ignored the little dogs yapping at him, the medium sized dog jumping up him and the large dog that ran at him. He wasn't bothered either by the children whizzing past him on their scooters. He came in some shops with me and waited patiently whilst I browsed. He is such a handsome boy, who will make a fabulous pet. I really hope that he doesn't have to wait much longer xx

Monty (Joey)
I’m Homed
We started fostering Joey today. He is our first foster dog and we are his first home. A big adventure for all of us. We went to our local park. Joey was pulling a bit at the start but it got better through the walk. He is very inquisitive when he sees other dogs, but does not show any aggression at all, only interest. He is a lovely boy. He obviously has to learn life in a home, but he seems to be a quick learner. He had to go up the stairs, of course, but the problem was going downstairs. Twice he had to be carried downstairs by foster Dad. Even the promise of a cocktail sausage was not enough for Joey to brave the stairs. Third time, we thought we would leave him up there, and after a few minutes he did it!! We were very proud of him. He comes to us very easily for cuddles, he is very affectionate. Let’s see what more adventures tomorrow brings.

Daybreaks Diary!

A cold and busy day today. Thanks to everyone for their help, especially Carol and Gloria who completely blitzed the treatment room, they did a fantastic job. It was lovely to have our Duke of Edinburgh students back. Big thanks to Liz for taking Mikey out for a few hours, he even visited Mountain Warehouse and went in the lift!! He is such a lovely boy, we really wish someone would offer him his forever home. Joey went out on foster this morning to give him a break from the kennels, he has the company of another greyhound to show him the home life ropes. Jess was reserved this afternoon, she is going out for the weekend next week and will hopefully be signed up if all goes well. There were lots of bookings for the sand run despite it being so cold, at least it was drier than yesterday. The inmates are all tucked up and warm, so I will be heading home shortly to see my four and cook them a celebratory dinner as it is Max's (Gummers 6th gotcha day). Take care and stay well.
