owwwww. Poor Lena. I hope she's soon feeling in top form and able to resume her normal duties, sorry activities. Norris sends his best and hope she's soon ready to do her gold, but thinks corns are a bit of an extreme way to get out of practising for it! Get well soon, love Lynne, Dave, boys Missy and an extra lean from Norris. xx

Sparky
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hosted a treatment day yesterday for the ladies at La Provotais so Sparky had lots of new people to meet and didn't he just love it. Tricia and Lorely were mugged and that was their first meeting. He loved all the attention and was very popular with everyone as he is just so affectionate. He is a very lovely boy and so well behaved, well except our neighbour has put goats back in the paddock adjacent to ours and that is a great interest to him!

Duggie

We had problems with Blue keeping weight on and switching to Burns was the best thing we did.Yes it initially costs more, but I believe it saves you money in the long run,Ruths comments are spot on about Burns but I would add it keeps your dog healthier, so hopefully you wont get any vets bills for any problems a lesser food could cause. Also the Lounge smells a lot better in the evening! Blue who is 7 now looks really good and even managed a 5th place at Nottingham in the 5-7yr category, she would have never done that before.I would urge people to try a bag and see the difference it makes to your dog,and the price difference is not as big as it initially looks in practise.Well done Daz-n-Julie for working through the problem Im sure Duggie will reward you for your patience, and sharing your experiences will Im sure help others. We love Duggie he got on so well with our 2 when we looked after him for the day, If you ever need to offload him for a day he's very welcome here Ruths got our number.x

Thanks Daz-n-Julie for sharing your experiences in such a very honest way. He's a fabulous lad and had several admirers when he was in the kennels and I'm pleased all is now well once more. The Duggie story is very interesting and would be something that any new owner or prospective owner should read, just in case. It's very easy to understand why you made the changes you did to give Duggie the other food, both economically and morally. Amazing results too when you switched back - definitely food for thought (no pun intended). No-one can guarantee a totally easy ride from here on in, but you are certainly on the right path. x

So you finally get to put your paws up. My paws are much better now. I even ran round the garden once the other night which is so unlike me. I had pretty pink bandages ( so unfair for a male dog). I hope u start feeling better soon. I am just starting to recover from my runny tummy & am now on chicken & rice. I won't be at training this week either as mum is in fear of her fingers as I am starving but only allowed small amounts of food at the moment. Hope to see u soon.

Today we have laid ellie-may to rest in our garden amongst the flowers she ejnoyed digging up and sniffing . It was a difficult decsion to finally say good bye as i am sure all of you know when that time has come, but i am soo comforted to know that after 106 races , 15 offspring , ellie finally had her chance to own not 1 but 2 forever sofa's! She was a very special dog who i know choose me that day when i just popped into the kennels. As soon as she enterd the house she just went to sleep in the lounge in front of the fire I think she knew that she was home. She is very muched missed , especially by my son ryan whom adored ellie so much. Thankyou for your kind wishes , it has given me much support. Daybreaks is a very special place and i have made such lovely friends over the last nearly 3 yrs . Will see you soon. Ann and family.xxx

Our baby was at the vets yesterday for extreme chiropody. We finally have the answer that she did indeed have corns after months of on/off lameness and the darned things not developing as we'd all imagined. The vet has dug out 3 deep seated little devils from her front feet. She is sporting very fetching leopard print dressings on both her front feet. It's slowed her down a bit and today she is having a duvet day and is being allowed to keep her Lillypeeps PJs on all day. She now knows how her friend Rolo must have felt........ Sadly Lena won't be able to undertake her usual security guard duties at Melbicks on Sunday morning (and obviously can't delegate to Lola who is hopeless in this respect) , but I'm sure she'll be back soon......also in the short term she gets out of practising for her Gold Good Citizen test......she is gutted of course.... x

Duggie
I’m Homed
This is such a heartwarming story. I remember Duggie as a super boy when I used to see him in the kennels and I met his new family when they came to collect him on a very busy day. Sometimes it feels like very hard work indeed with a new grey - for all sorts of different reasons - but with oodles of love and support and consistency - and the right food! - my experience is that greys will always respond and make our lives richer. Well done to Duggies family for sticking with it - and Duggie - what a lucky boy you are. xx
