Jill has offered to bring Mandy up to meet us on Tuesday on hhwe way to Manchester. Our grey boy is a non racer and so soppy you wouldn't believe it. Is there anything else her foster mum can tell me. It says that she became scared to go out? We do get quite a lot of fireworks round here, is that what the problem was? Any additional info will be greatly appreciated as I'm being sensible and not letting my heart ruley head. Many thanks. Maria

Unfortunately Wilf has been returned today. Sadly he is too boisterous still for his elderly owner. The family are really upset at having to make this decision.

Thanks Ruth. Poor Basil 🙁 I will see how Dylan goes with it. The vet thinks there might be enough scar tissue to keep it in place but if not the top of the toe will have to come off. My poor Baby. He doesnt seem to be too distressed though bless him. 🙂

Oh Ruth I am sooooo glad she has settled with you. We have missed her but there must have been something which stopped her from wanting to go out. In the house she was wonderful. I guess we will have to content ourselves with walking the trust dogs. See you bright and early Sunday morning!! Many thanks for everyone's kind words and encouragement xxxx

Basil and Shrew both used to regularly dislocate their toes when running around the park - with Shrew we used to click it back into place and rest her (gentle lead exercise) for a couple of weeks. With Basil he eventually dislocated it so badly it couldn't be 'popped' back and he ended up having his toe amputated 🙁

Lou Lou is such a pretty girl. She is small but very stocky and muscular, and quite keen to get out on her walk! She is really friendly and affectionate and I somehow don't think she will be with us for very long. x

Poor Dylan has dislocated a toe on his rear foot 🙁 he has been a brave boy. The toe is strapped up by the Vet and a dressing applied. The Vet seems to think that it may keep happening now that it is weakened and he may have to have the top of his toe amputated. Has this happened to anyone else with their grey? I dont like the idea of that as he already has toe missing on the other foot. Nic x

Mandy has been coming home with me so I could assess how she was after she was returned a couple of days ago. My first thoughts were to give her some herbal calming tablets and use a thunder shirt. However, I have not needed to - she seems to be thriving on the company of my greys and seems very happy - she has been playing with her toys, clean in the house, sleeping through the night downstairs with mine and very excited to go out on walks. I think she just the company of another dog and hope she can find a home very soon as she is just such a lovely girl. She is not cat friendly sadly.

At the moment I'm being a naughty girl you see I think everything is food and I can eat it I was not content to eat a cushion,chocolate and the post last week i decided as it was mums birthday today I should have lovely smelling breath and bottom burps by eating half a bar of soap and I still feel ok mum was going to take me to the nasty vets till she found me tucking in to the dog food bin dad left open That will teach them to go out to dinner without me . The only thing mum can think of doing is putting extra locks on all the doors and child proofing all the cupboards looks like dads going to have a busy weekend Minnie proofing the house so he won't be able to come to the fun day so i will have to bring my uncle mark oh well I'm off to bed to think about how to get through all the lock woof woof x

I feel for you and your family it is very upsetting when your grey gets stressed we were the same with our tinker last year she wouldn't go for a walk or go in the garden when it got dark she heard some fireworks of and that was that not going anywhere so we used to take her while it was light and even took her out and stayed with her while she done her toilet even now it's getting to this dreaded time she is getting upset as the dark nights are here we put her bed in a corner and cover her up as she is so stressed she can't stand with fright so I think it's time we are going to try a thunder coat as nothing seems to help we leave the curtains closed soon as it gets dark put the tv high so she can't hear things so my heart go s out to you and to this beautiful girl who needs someone to love her and give her a chance of home life bless you don't be disheartend things could work out for you xxxxx
