Happy 8th birthday to our gorgeous Skippy Doo-Dah. You and you brother Sam and sister Nadie have been spoilt with mackerel in tomato sauce for breakfast and a long munch on your ostrich bones this afternoon. With lamb for tea. You all had walks. Seem to be tired now. Love you so much with your funny ways - your grumpiness if your feet are touched but your amazing flappertypuffing and mad zoomies. Daddy's looking down on you and is celebrating your birthday with Bert at Rainbow Bridge. x

Timmy arrived at Daybreaks on Friday and today paid his first visit to Brueton Park. He is only 22 months old and never raced. Consequently he is even more unaware of life outside of kennels than greyhounds who raced regularly and probably experienced large groups of people at the tracks. This may help to explain why he can find new situations quite daunting and make him feel rather unsure of himself. Considering all these things he actually did very well while in the park today. As he grew in confidence he was keen to meet people and children, showed no negatives in meeting other breeds and although on the lead he can follow an erratic course (he does love to sniff bushes and trees !!)he will eventually become more accustomed to the lead. A very loving boy who will enjoy a home with lots of love and affection and perhaps not too much unexpected noise or disturbances.

Bella is recovering from her recent Neutering operation so is still not able to join the other residents on walks for a few more days. Myra took her for a stroll around the sand run this morning and I did the same this afternoon. We both enjoyed standing in the pockets of sunshine. :)) She really is a very special, sweet girl. Xxx

A quiet day for visitors so after morning walks we were able to get some much needed jobs done. Yvonne and Myra sorted all the recently donated bedding and Jude got to work sorting the back treatment room. Thanks so much everyone. Xxx All of our current residents at Daybreaks are beautiful! I adore this sweet little girl. She does give the best kisses, jumping up to place her paws on your shoulders to ensure maximum face coverage!!! I sat with her in the kennel for a short while yesterday, and after plenty of kisses she finally sat herself down, pressed right up against my leg. She gets my cuddle tonight - night night gorgeous, sweet dreams. xxx

Huge thanks to Katarina & family for taking Mikey out for a birthday treat yesterday - it sounded like a great day out and I wish I could have come too!! This fabulous boy thrives on interaction and having that very intelligent mind of his occupied - I bet he slept well after such a lovely day. xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another cold day today. Thanks to everyone for their help today, all dogs managed morning and afternoon walks. Timmy and Beeswing both had individual play time in the sand run. We had visitors for the sand run, it is still as popular as ever. Just going to tuck the dogs up and put their heaters on and then I'm heading home.
