  • Sparky

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

More new experiences for the lovely Sparky today. We took him out for lunch down to the golf course and sat in the shade on the terrace by the lake - it was incredible. The gulls were wheeling and calling, golfers were out in force pushing their golf carts or riding about in those brilliant buggies - and Sparky was having sensory overload bless him!! He honestly didn't know where to look first, and thought the golf carts were some form of big animal he had to chase!! As seems to be the case with him with any new place, he didn't sit down all the time we were there as he had to check everything out, and couldn't be persuaded away from his vigil! It must have been quite daunting for him to view this huge wide open space full of strange new things making strange noises! We sometimes forget how things we take for granted will appear to a dog that has spent his life in kennels. Again, he was so happy to get "home" and is now crashed out in his basket after such an exhausting time. We have been fostering this beautiful boy for almost a month now and, although we absolutely love having him here and he is a pleasure to be around, he is ready for his forever home where he can settle into his permanent routine and blossom as we know he will. Xx

  • Jonty (Rooney)

    I’m Homed

We have finally signed on the dotted line for Jonty. He is not quite the masterful male that Joe envisaged, more of a big daft lump who is led into endless trouble by his much brighter big sister, Badger. They are generally referred to as 'that pair of muppets' which seems to sum them up. He is a very vocal chap (Ruth said that would stop as soon as he was in a home ha ha) and is the most unusual chocolate brown with silver tipped ears, despite his official colour being blue! Love Jane, Joe, Badger, Nina and Jonty xx

Juno was our house guest last night following her Spey. She has been a very good girl and slept quite well. She has eaten some breakfast and her tail is still wagging! She really is a lovely girl. Xxx

    I’m Homed

Belle was speyed yesterday and was bright and ate well on arrival back at the kennels. My normal policy is to take all girls neutered home with me for at least the first night but unfortunately I wasn't able to. I have been watching her on the live cameras installed at the kennels and she has had a very settled night.

Daisydog is just back from her holidays in the Cotswolds. We stayed in a lovely cottage with an enclosed garden and had lots of lovely walks across the fields. There was a Cotswold cat which she ignored. Ditto a Labrador. It is a wonderful thing that within 30 minutes she was settled in this new place and was a golden girl all the week. What a difference seven months make! Happy to be home though and snuggled up in her basket. Love you daisydog. xx

Poor Judy had to have more teeth out today and has to go back for a further dental. She is coming home with me tonight until she is back on her feet as she still a little sore from having her corn removed last week and is quite wobbly following her op today.

Sadly Tessa was bitten in the night by her kennel mate so she has had to go to the vets. She is very sore and seems very down. If I had more space at Hospital Boswell, I would be taking her home. 🙁 If anyone would like to foster her for a while - please let me know. Ruth 0121 782 7702.
